Great News For Philadelphia AND New York! Wow!

It’s a great day for The Philadelphia Orchestra, the City of Philadelphia, and the entire music world. Music Director Yannick Nézet-Séguin has renewed his deep commitment to the institution by extending his tenure through the 2025-26 season.
With the Orchestra’s legacy of great music directors, we are poised for at least another decade of Yannick’s superb leadership.
Announced simultaneously was his being named music director of New York’s Metropolitan Opera, starting with the 2020-21 season.
