Catholic Social Services of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia (CSS), in partnership with the Pro-Life Union of Greater Philadelphia, will host “Philly’s Biggest Baby Shower” for new and expecting mothers in need and their families.
Saturday, August 24, 2024
10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Archdiocesan Pastoral Center (Parking Lot)
222 North 17th Street
Philadelphia, PA 19103
The outdoor event will feature a baby parade, food, music, games, raffles, and fun activities for children including a bounce house and face painting. In addition, over twenty vendors will be in attendance to help connect families to various parenting resources. CSS and Pro-Life Union staff will be present to distribute diapers, wipes, and a variety of other essential supplies to individuals and families facing obstacles to obtaining infant and childcare necessities.
CSS is collecting baby care items until Friday, August 23rd. All goods donated will be distributed at “Philly’s Biggest Baby Shower”. Those interested in supporting CSS and our neighbors in need can purchase diapers, wipes, and more online through CSS’ Amazon Wish List. Direct donations can also be made by contacting Ms. Amy Stoner, Director of CSS’ Community-Based and Housing and Homeless Services Divisions, at astoner@chs-adphila.org.
At the 2023 iteration of this event, CSS and the Pro-Life Union distributed over 1,700 baby items to nearly 500 new and expecting mothers who attended the community event.
Throughout the year, CSS offers a broad spectrum of services to support new and expecting mothers, regardless of creed, including prenatal and parenting classes; events and support groups; assistance in finding appropriate medical services; referrals for other services for the needs of the women and newborn; and access to baby food, diapers, furniture, and other essentials.
