Trump And The Illustrious Legacy Of Old Ironsides

President Trump’s State of the Union speech was an example of the change in our culture I have been feeling and what I wrote about yesterday in my essay titled “Feelings, Nothing More Than Feelings.”

Last night’s SOTU was one of the most FU, in your face, muscular, masculine, sit down and STFU addresses I have heard in years, and while it wasn’t as eloquent or polished as JD’s speeches in Europe or Rubio’s NATO address, it was tailored in bespoke Trumpian fashion to embarrass the seditious, put our domestic enemies on notice, and force them out into the spotlight.

It was a truly patriotic and America First night.

As the evening progressed, I recalled how it unfurled in a like manner to how the USS Constitution got the nickname “Old Ironsides” in an engagement with the British HMS Guerriere. During the fight, much of Guerriere’s shots rebounded harmlessly off Constitution’s hull. An American sailor reportedly exclaimed “Huzzah! Her sides are made of iron!” and Constitution acquired the nickname “Old Ironsides”.

Vance’s and Rubio’s addresses were surgical strikes, but as the Democrats’ opened up and the “Fuck ICE” and Epstein cannonballs bounced off his vessel’s thick oaken hull, Captain Trump tacked his version of Old Ironsides abeam of the Democrat’s flagship and opened up with every 22 and 34 pounder aboard in a full double-loaded broadside cannonade of grape and round shot that ripped sails and rigging, splintered masts, separated plank from nail, and punched holes in their hull.

The remaining Democrats were out maneuvered and outgunned, having lost about a third of their crew due to deserters fleeing from what they expected would be a defeat, could not avoid the grappling hooks, the pikes and cutlasses, or the boarding and subsequent scuttling and burning of their flagship, the Sandy Cortez.

Rarely do we see a president push back in such a direct attack, dismissing fools, traitors and their accomplices. The intransigence of Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib left no doubt about the existence of the anti-American cabal within the Democrat Party and the absence of so many of their other loudmouth, lying cowards highlighted just how hollow and empty this party has become.

The skirmish begins earlier in the day when effete and comical social media “influencers” and alleged “news” outlets began to publish articles critical of the US Hockey team’s gold medal win, their visit to the White House and their lack of embarrassment at their victory. One “influencer” I saw said she wasn’t going to celebrate because the men’s team “wasn’t diverse enough” and others suggested we weren’t contrite and apologetic enough toward our northern neighbors, whom we defeated to take the gold.

The incessant whining of the Canucks about them really being the better team even though they came up silver didn’t help their cause.

In the words of Ricky Bobby’s daddy, Reese Bobby, “If you ain't first, you're last.”

On the four year delayed Epstein panic, NPR breathlessly reported on a debunked decade old story about Trump sexually abusing and then threatening an underage female, rehashing a story from a mentally disturbed woman who had no proof and had to voluntarily withdraw her lawsuit against Epstein—but I’m sure that had nothing to do with the timing of the SOTU and the fact that, after years of promises and threats, NPR and the Corporation for Public Broadcasting lost its federal funding.

The battle was over the moment the Democrats did not stand to signify their allegiance to the American citizen over their lurid embrace of illegal aliens. At that moment they displayed, on national television, their hate of America. No matter how many times they wrap themselves in our flag and Constitution, their traitorous intent is now forevermore clearly recorded.

President Trump walked the entire Democrat Party up to that line and gave them the chance to step back and instead, they stepped over to the other side.

For those in Rio Linda, that means the battle lines were drawn in thick black ink last night and now there is no question who stands on which side. There is no excuse for not knowing where you stand.

Change is coming.

As the President said, there is more winning on the way.

Second place is the first loser.

Last night, President Donald J. Yes, It Was TRiUMPhant! Here's Why . . .

Watching the president’s State of the Union address last night, I was once again impressed by three important factors:

1. The president’s definitive command of the spoken word. President Trump stood for two hours and didn’t seem to miss a single syllable or point of emphasis. Likewise, he was able to go on and off script, seamlessly, at will. At the same time, he was superb at “reading” the audience, and its reactions. In this way, he kept the address lively, seemingly spontaneous and unpredictable. These are the marks of someone who has clearly mastered public address.

2. The president – – any president – – in order to be truly effective must also be a showman. Having dabbled in the world of media and entertainment, and having led a hit TV series, Trump is a master showman and his talent in this area, were on full display last night. So, the speech was periodically peppered with captivating moments showcasing ordinary people who had done extraordinary things. It was exciting, inspiring and hugely aspirational. It helps, of course, that we like to think of these qualities as quintessentially American.

3. Trump seems to know how to get precisely the reaction he wants out of various segments of his audience at any given time. He is a champion provocateur. He knows how to push people’s buttons – – and, when necessary, how to trigger them. Lamely, the Democrats played right into his hands. At the same time, it helped that the Republicans cheered precisely when they should have cheered and glared disapprovingly at their Democrat colleagues exactly when they should’ve done that. The entire symphony was a tour de force orchestrated by the master impresario, Donald J Trump

I don’t think I’ve ever seen anything quite like this in my lifetime. Then again, I was born after Andrew Jackson, and both Roosevelts – – Teddy and FDR. Make no mistake about it, we are living through unprecedented and historic times!

Abigail Spanberger will deliver the Democrat response to President Donald J. Trump’s State of the Union tonight. Spanberger, like the rest of the Radical Left lunatics in her party, is fully against President Trump’s agenda of lowering costs, bringing back manufacturing, and securing our borders — instead favoring a return to the Biden-era carnage she was “proud” to support.   Spanberger has a long history of supporting open borders, soft-on-crime policies, reckless spending, tax hikes, radical climate mandates, extreme gender ideology, and woke DEI initiatives — positions that endanger American families and underscore the catastrophe Democrats will once again unleash if given the chance.

Spanberger prioritizes criminal illegal aliens over Americans: Weeks after becoming Governor, she swiftly terminated Virginia’s agreement with ICE, halting state law enforcement cooperation with federal immigration enforcement — giving criminal illegal alien killers, rapists, and gangbangers a pass.   During her time in Congress, she repeatedly undermined border security by voting against the Secure the Border Act, supporting a pathway to citizenship for more than two million illegal aliens, co-sponsoring an amnesty bill for millions of illegals, and twice voting to terminate President Trump’s national emergency declaration at the southern border.

Spanberger undermines law enforcement at every turn: She refused to condemn an extreme D.C. crime bill that reduced penalties for violent criminals and put millions of citizens and visitors to the nation’s capital at risk.   She has consistently supported defunding the police efforts, accepting tens of thousands in campaign contributions from groups advocating defunding and marching with a group that claimed “law enforcement doesn’t protect or save our lives.”

Spanberger’s support for reckless spending fueled record inflation and higher costs for families: She enthusiastically supported Biden’s multi-trillion-dollar tax-and-spending spree — ignoring warnings about skyrocketing inflation.   She opposed President Trump’s landmark 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, which cut taxes for 80% of taxpayers — calling it “irresponsible” — and also opposed the Working Families Tax Cut, which delivered unprecedented tax relief to nearly every American.   Her party proposed over 50 new taxes on Virginians just weeks after taking office.

Spanberger embraces Radical Left climate extremism that drives up energy costs: In January 2026, she proudly announced Virginia’s rejoining of the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative, imposing costly regulations on energy producers that raise electricity bills for families and businesses.   She cheered Biden’s reentry into the Paris Climate Agreement, a scam projected to cost American families over $20,000 in lost income, eliminate hundreds of thousands of jobs, and inflict trillions in economic damage.

Spanberger pushes extreme gender ideology that undermines fairness and safety: She voted against passage of the Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act, which would bar biological males from competing in women’s and girls’ sports.   She voted twice to allow men in women’s bathrooms, locker rooms, and changing rooms.   She advocated against commonsense restrictions on radical gender-affirming care for minors, prioritizing ideology over parental rights and child welfare.

Spanberger advances woke DEI and divisive ideologies: Her cabinet includes a “Chief Diversity Officer” who thinks the U.S. Constitution should be dismantled and claimed DEI is a “constitutional mandate.”   She has ties to extremist organizations pushing so-called “Critical Race Theory.”

Spanberger backs a Democrat takeover of federal elections: She cosponsored and voted for a bill to take away control of elections from state governments — making it “easier to cheat and easier to manipulate election results.”

Tonight, while President Trump highlights the successes of his America First agenda in slashing costs, revitalizing manufacturing, securing our borders, and delivering real relief — Spanberger’s response will only underscore her party’s commitment to the failed lunacy Americans rejected. Americans deserve better than the Radical Left’s vision of higher taxes, weaker borders, and divisive ideology. While Spanberger and Democrats stand firmly in opposition to prosperity, President Trump is delivering real results for all Americans

HOCKEY GOLD: Setting The Record Straight

Sadly, some people are trying to politicize the recent series of events surrounding the US hockey team's stunning gold medal victory at the Olympic games. It's time to set the record straight:

The facts:

1) In 1980 then Vice President Walter Mondale (a Minnesotan and a huge hockey fan) attended the Olympic games, was at the championship hockey game when the US defeated Russia and celebrated with the team afterwards in the locker room.

2) On the heels of their big victory (aka The Miracle on Ice) then President Jimmy Carter invited the team to the White House. The team accepted and were later feted by the President and Mrs. Carter and congressional leaders in Washington.

3) In 1980, both Republicans and Democrats joined together to celebrate the team. Throughout the nation, as far as anyone could tell, people of every race, color, faith, neighborhood and political persuasion took pride in the win and were overjoyed. 

4) FBI Director Kash Patel played hockey, is a huge hockey fan, is friend's with the coach of the US team, attended the championship Olympic game in Milan and celebrated with the winning USA team.

5) Director Patel was in the locker room with the team after the game and put the team on the phone with the president who invited the team to the White House and the upcoming State of the Union Address. The president invited the winning US women's hockey team as well. The men's team accepted the president's invitation. The women 's team is reprteably unable to attend at this time due to a scheduling conflict. They will presumably accept at a later date.

6) Those who are attempting to politicize the teams' victories, Patel's attendance at the game, President Trump's invite and other aspects of this series of events are wrong. They are making fools of themselves.

7) The president is the president of all the people. He's my president and, yes -- he's your president too. The Olympic teams and participants represent our entire country. Pride in and love of country are nothing to apologize for. In fact, they are normally (and always should be) part of such participation. 

8) When the president invites you to Washington to be recognized and honored, unless you have some truly compelling reason not to accept, you accept and you attend. It's a matter of respect, no matter who the president may be.

This is Matthew Carney. He was 42 years old. An ILLEGAL was stealing tools from Carneys pickup truck outside of the restaurant he owned. Carney came out confronted him and attempted to stop him. He then proceeded to drive into Matthew, who was critically injured and later died. The ILLEGAL was also wanted on an outstanding auto theft warrant. These are the people Democrats protest FOR. They don't care about their victims. And sadly, these defenders of those who are here illegally also include Catholic bishops and pastors.

Carney was beloved in Nashville by patrons of his restaurant and everyone who knew him.

From WZTV in Nashville: "ICE confirms a man accused of killing a popular restaurant owner is an illegal immigrant. Court records show he has had a previous run in with the law in Davidson County, but somehow his immigration status failed to raise red flags.

"Ulises Raigoz-Martinez was charged with the death of Smokin Thighs owner Matthew Carney after he died on July 4 from a hit-and-run crash at his restaurant. That hit and run happened on June 19, according to police.

"Now Martinez faces several charges including criminal homicide."

Trump Outlines Plan After Supreme Court Ruling

The Supreme Court’s Ruling on TARIFFS is deeply disappointing! I am ashamed of certain Members of the Court for not having the Courage to do what is right for our Country. I would like to thank and congratulate Justices Thomas, Alito, and Kavanaugh for your Strength, Wisdom, and Love of our Country, which is right now very proud of you. When you read the dissenting opinions, there is no way that anyone can argue against them. Foreign Countries that have been ripping us off for years are ecstatic, and dancing in the streets — But they won’t be dancing for long! The Democrats on the Court are thrilled, but they will automatically vote “NO” against ANYTHING that makes America Strong and Healthy Again. They, also, are a Disgrace to our Nation. Others think they’re being “politically correct,” which has happened before, far too often, with certain Members of this Court when, in fact, they’re just FOOLS and “LAPDOGS” for the RINOS and Radical Left Democrats and, not that this should have anything to do with it, very unpatriotic, and disloyal to the Constitution. It is my opinion that the Court has been swayed by Foreign Interests, and a Political Movement that is far smaller than people would think — But obnoxious, ignorant, and loud!
 
This was an important case to me, more as a symbol of Economic and National Security, than anything else. The Good News is that there are methods, practices, Statutes, and other Authorities, as recognized by the entire Court and Congress, that are even stronger than the IEEPA TARIFFS, available to me as President of the United States of America and, in actuality, I was very modest in my “ask” of other Countries and Businesses because I wanted to do nothing that could sway the decision that has been rendered by the Court.
 
I have very effectively utilized TARIFFS over the past year to, MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN. Our Stock Market has just recently broken the 50,000 mark on the DOW and, simultaneously, 7,000 on the S&P, two numbers that everybody thought, upon our Landslide Election Victory, could not be attained until the very end of my Administration — Four years! TARIFFS have, likewise, been used to end five of the eight Wars that I settled, have given us Great National Security and, together with our Strong Border, reduced Fentanyl coming into our Country by 30%, when I use them as a penalty against Countries illegally sending this poison to us. All of those TARIFFS remain, but other alternatives will now be used to replace the ones that the Court incorrectly rejected.

To show you how ridiculous the opinion is, the Court said that I’m not allowed to charge even $1 DOLLAR to any Country under IEEPA, I assume to protect other Countries, not the United States which they should be interested in protecting — But I am allowed to cut off any and all Trade or Business with that same Country, even imposing a Foreign Country destroying embargo, and do anything else I want to do to them — How nonsensical is that? They are saying that I have the absolute right to license, but not the right to charge a license fee. What license has ever been issued without the right to charge a fee? But now the Court has given me the unquestioned right to ban all sorts of things from coming into our Country, a much more powerful Right than many people thought we had.
 
Our Country is the “HOTTEST” anywhere in the World, but now, I am going in a different direction, which is even stronger than our original choice. As Justice Kavanaugh wrote in his Dissent:
 
“Although I firmly disagree with the Court's holding today, the decision might not substantially constrain a President's ability to order tariffs going forward. That is because numerous other federal statutes authorize the President to impose tariffs and might justify most (if not all) of the tariffs issued in this case...Those statutes include, for example, the Trade Expansion Act of 1962 (Section 232); the Trade Act of 1974 (Sections 122, 201, and 301); and the Tariff Act of 1930 (Section 338).”

In actuality, while I am sure they did not mean to do so, the Supreme Court’s decision today made a President’s ability to both regulate Trade, and impose TARIFFS, more powerful and crystal clear, rather than less. There will no longer be any doubt, and the Income coming in, and the protection of our Companies and Country, will actually increase because of this decision. Based on longstanding Law and Hundreds of Victories to the contrary, the Supreme Court did not overrule TARIFFS, they merely overruled a particular use of IEEPA TARIFFS. The ability to block, embargo, restrict, license, or impose any other condition on a Foreign Country’s ability to conduct Trade with the United States under IEEPA, has been fully confirmed by this decision. In order to protect our Country, a President can actually charge more TARIFFS than I was charging in the past under the various other TARIFF authorities, which have also been confirmed, and fully allowed.
 
Therefore, effective immediately, all National Security TARIFFS, Section 232 and existing Section 301 TARIFFS, remain in place, and in full force and effect. Today I will sign an Order to impose a 10% GLOBAL TARIFF, under Section 122, over and above our normal TARIFFS already being charged, and we are also initiating several Section 301 and other Investigations to protect our Country from unfair Trading practices. Thank you for your attention to this matter. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!

Nah, Sherrill Ain't Freezin' YOUR Utility Bills!

Let’s face it: thousands of New Jerseyans voted for Mikie Sherrill last November because they actually, truly believed that she was going to “freeze” their skyrocketing utility bills. Nothing Sherrill has accomplished over the last few weeks suggests she’s serious about helping the New Jerseyans who literally pay the bills.

On Tuesday, the Sherrill Administration announced that it is initiating a pilot program funded by the American Water Charitable Foundation. The plan? “[P]rovide 1,250 New Jersey families enrolled in the Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) program – primarily in Camden County – to receive a one-time $200 grant to help pay their utility bills.”

“My Administration is committed to exploring every option at our disposal to drive down utility costs for New Jersey families,” said Governor Mikie Sherrill. “This pilot program targeting WIC enrollees is a great example of the innovative solutions we are bringing to our mission of delivering direct relief for those most in need.”

God bless EBT card users, Save Jerseyans, but once again, the struggling middle class isn’t priority #1 for Trenton’s generosity:

Since the families will be “randomly selected,” there doesn’t appear to be any guarantee that illegal aliens won’t receive help with their utility bills before YOU do.
