The Independence Hall Tea Party PAC, the only federally registered Tea Party PAC in the tri-state (DE, NJ, PA) area, is claiming victory in Tuesday's midterm elections.
"The goal of our PAC was to 'Take Back Congress,' theme of our April 17, 2010 Tea
Party, and to fire Nancy Pelosi. We did just that," said PAC President, Don Adams.
"A majority of our endorsed candidates won, with our biggest victory being that of Pat Toomey--now Senator-elect Pat Toomey. We picked-up 5 U.S. House seats in Pennsylvania and 1 House seat in New Jersey.
"Pennsylvania is now clearly a red state, as republicans and conservatives won control of an overwhelming number of U.S. House seats, a U.S. Senate seat, the governorship, and the state legislature" said Sean Carpenter, PAC Vice President for Pennsylvania.
"We made our endorsements during the primary and are proud of the results. Besides Senator-elect Toomey, we endorsed challengers Pat Meehan (PA-7), Mike Fitzpatrick (PA-8), and Lou Barletta (PA-11). We also endorsed incumbents Jim Gerlach (PA-6), Charlie Dent (PA-15), and Joe Pitts (PA-16)."
In New Jersey, PAC endorsed candidate Jon Runyan (NJ-3) also won. (The PAC had endorsed Runyan over Justin Murphy during the primary.)
"The 'fake' Tea Party candidacy of Peter DeStefano hurt John Adler. The fact that Alder never admitted to his campaign's involvement in putting up DeStefano, despite the Courier Post's investigation proving the opposite, strongly affected the Congressman's credibility," said William Green, PAC Vice President for New Jersey.
"Jon Runyan ran a excellent campaign. He stayed on message and united both the Republican Party and the Tea Party."
"The Independence Hall Tea Party PAC will now turn its attention to the 2012 elections," said Green.
