Legislation sponsored by Dawn Marie Addiego (R-Burlington) and Senator Steve Oroho (R-Sussex, Morris, Hunterdon) that would require all state agency rules to be published in the New Jersey Register was recently passed by the Senate State Government, Wagering, Tourism and Historic Preservation Committee.
"This legislation is about government transparency and leveling the playing field for small business owners, " Oroho stated. "By requiring agency rules to be published we can help eliminate unnecessary costs and inefficiencies that serve as a roadblock to company growth and job creation."
In addition to publishing all rules in the New Jersey Register, state agencies would be required to post them on their website in a prominent location.
"State imposed rules and regulations by can be very time consuming and cumbersome for even the most experienced person," Addiego continued. "Simple, clear and concise rules that are easily accessible will allow small business owners to spend their time with more productive activities like growing their business, creating jobs and responding to clients."
