Over the weekend we dined at Seasons 52 and once again enjoyed their fresh, beautifully-prepared food, fine service and appealing ambience.
Ever since Seasons 52 first arrived in the Philadelphia area it's been a winner with us. But here's the thing: The restaurant has maintained its high standards. There's been no atrophy whatsoever. In fact, this place just seems to get better every time we return.
We started with the Grilled Steak and Cremini Mushroom Flatbread with fresh spinach and Wisconsin blue cheese. We don't know who invented flatbreads but it may as well have been Seasons 52. They've certainly perfected the flatbread. They're crisp, tasty and make for a remarkable prelude to your dinner.
We then went on to the Organic Arugula Salad with truffle dressing, Portobello mushrooms and Parmesan cheese. Well, this is not the arugula you find in your local supermarket. This salad actually makes arugula something to look forward to. It is a perfect medley of flavors.
We selected two seafood entrees: Roasted Artichoke-Stuffed Shrimp with wilted leaf spinach, pasta pearls and clam cioppino sauce and the Caramelized Sea Scallops grilled and served with roasted asparagus and tomato-mushroom pearl pasta. The scallops were plump, firm and juicy. And the artichoke stuffing actually rivaled the significant, tempting shrimp. The presentation was beautiful (see the actual photos of our plates above) and even the vegetables were fresh and tasty.
Then of course we completed our dinner with those famous Season 52 mini-indulgences. This restaurant pioneered this unique dessert. The whole concept of the mini indulgence is just that- indulgence in a smaller portion size. These desserts are designed to feature high-impact flavors and top quality ingredients, such as Belgian Callebaut Chocolate. Season's 52 makes the real thing… dessert… in all its decadence, and then they put it into a shot-size glass. So guests get to have all of the pleasure and none of the guilt- along with the chance to try more than one in a visit.
In the Philadelphia region you can find the original Seasons 52 at the Cherry Hill Mall. Another restaurant is located at the King of Prussia Mall in suburban Philadelphia.
Steve, our waiter at the Cherry Hill location was a delight -- thorough, attentive and personable. And we were so happy to meet the restaurant's manager and other members of the staff.
Seasons 52 is a fresh grill and wine bar that invites guests to discover the sensational flavors of a seasonally-inspired menu and award-winning international wine list in a casually-sophisticated ambiance. The menu really does change with the seasons and the new fall menu features many seasonal favorites.
Seasons 52 has 21 locations. Click here to find one near you.
We promise: You won't be disappointed.
