Two Runners Collapse, Die In Philly Marathon

It was a perfect day for a run.
And people were really excited about the Philadelphia Marathon today, with the weather partly cloudy, breezy, mild, with temperatures in the high 50s or low 60s. Warm for November -- but not too warm.
But before it was over two men collapsed (apparently of heart attacks) and died. One of the men was 21 years old and the other was 40.
The 21-year-old ran only a half-marathon (13.1 miles) and the 40-year-old collapsed a quarter mile from the finish line.

"We are deeply saddened and our thoughts are with their families and friends," said the event's organizers in a statement.

Though the Philly course is billed as a flat there are some surprising hills and that could have thrown some of the runners off.
