Independence Hall Tea Party: Resist, Resist, Resist!

A special message from the Independence Hall Tea Party Association:

Dear Members and Friends, The Association has had a three-pronged strategy for defeating ObamaCare.  Each approach, on its own, could stop ObamaCare dead in its tracks.  One those methods, defeating ObamaCare in Federal court, has been dealt a somewhat fatal blow (see press release below). Two other methods, however, are still very much alive: The first of these methods is to repeal it on on the Federal level, legislatively, by electing a Republican President and Congress.  That is a work in progress.  We made gains in 2010 and must complete the task in 2012. (Governor Romney has promised to repeal the law on day one of his Administration.) The second method is to pass opt out of ObamaCare legislation at the state level.  In PA, that means enacting Rep. Matt Baker's bill, HB 42, into law.   In DE and NJ, that might require attaining waivers or other exemptions.  Obviously, due to Democratic control of the legislatures in both states, this strategy is more problematic and opt out legislation is not much of an option.  However, preventing or slowing down the establishment of health care exchanges in all three of these states could help buy time.  Resist, resist, resist.
