Artist Reception: Saturday, September 6,  2-4pm

Stephen Mallon and "Land In Sea" continues the work of The Hudson River School, the oldest Art movement in America.  These artists captured the landscape in epic size to depict the power of nature and man's relationship with it. Two themes will be presented.

"Brace for Impact: The Salvage of Flight 1549" features Mallon's large photographs documenting the recovery by Weeks Marine of the plane piloted by Sully Sullenberger in 2009.

"American Reclamation: Next Stop Atlantic" documents the progress of subway cars to their final destination at sea as part of NYC's MTA artificial reef-building program.

"A Bridge Delivered" is a time-lapse video presentation cobbled together from 30,000 Mallon photos depicting the barge transportation of the new Willis Avenue bridge from Albany, down the Hudson River, around the Battery and up the East River to its final 125th Harlem location.

Viewing for individuals and families Thursdays 4-8pm and Saturdays 1-5pm during the Museum's free open boat tours .  Groups by appointment only. Come meet the artist Stephen Mallon Saturday September 6th from 2-4pm. Free.
