Christie Touts Success Of Drug Rehab Program
Governor Christie: By directly connecting those who have suffered from addiction to the services they need most at a really critical juncture, when they are reentering society, we’re helping them avoid a cycle of dependency by transitioning them from government services to the private sector and a workplace. This just doesn’t reduce long-term service costs to the state, but it is the best way to ensure that these people and let’s remember something everybody, we’re not talking about statistics, we’re talking about people. People who could be my son or daughter, your son or daughter, your husband or wife. This is the best way to ensure that beyond the statistics, that they become hopeful again, optimistic again, happy again, and productive members of our society. We should want that for every one of our citizens and as long as I’m Governor, we are going to fight to make it happen.
