How Philadelphia City Council Let You Down

Here is a very special message from Lynne Abraham:

Friends,

Last year, the City of Philadelphia was offered nearly $2 billion for Philadelphia Gas Works. Selling PGW could have addressed outdated infrastructure, reduced pension fund liabilities, and improved service to City homeowners, the City Council failed even to hold a hearing on the merits of the sale. As I said at the time and still believe today, an issue as important as this deserved a hearing. Click here to demand that city leadership hold a hearing: http://LynneAbraham.com/PGW-Deserves-a-Hearing

And just a few days ago, City Council voted to create a committee about the future of PGW, pushing the issue down the road for someone else to address. It is clear, that they would prefer to let the issue die than confront it.

We need a proven leader with the courage to take on the tough issues and the guts to get things done. That is why I am running for Mayor – because Philadelphia deserves someone who is nobody’s Mayor but yours.

While political insiders want to maintain a system that works for them, it is time to end the status quo. Click here to support creating a system that works for everybody, not just a few.
