Philadelphia's Fleisher Art Memorial presents its 15th annual Print Love-In on Sunday, February 8, 2015, at Fleisher's Works on Paper Building located at 705 Christian Street in Philadelphia.
The Love-In, a cherished family-friendly event since 2000, serves as a welcoming introduction to printmaking as well as Fleisher's programs and mission rooted in the ideals of Samuel Fleisher.
The Love-In will feature three sessions, beginning at 10 a.m. and concluding at 7 p.m. Sessions one (10 a.m. to 12 p.m.) and two (1 p.m. to 3 p.m.) are open to ages 5 and up. All children must be accompanied by an adult. An evening session with wine and light refreshments for ages 21+ will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Registration is available online at www.fleisher.org or by calling 215-922-3456, ext. 300.
A limited number of walk-up registrations will also be accepted at the door. Registration fees are $10 per person for sessions one and two and $30 per person for session three.
No previous printmaking experience is needed. Participants will learn processes and techniques including lithograph, silkscreen, wood, and linoleum blocks. Incorporating designs contributed by Philadelphia artists, attendees will create and decorate their own Valentine's Day cards.
This year's participating artists include: Hanna Aufschauer, Christine Blair, Bill Brookover, Nicole Dul, Marie Elcin, Elaine M. Erne, Rebecca Gilbert, Mike Geno, Geoff Hindle, Carla Liguori, Peter McMahon, Jose Ortin-Pagan, Caitlin Perkins, Miriam Singer, Girard Silva, Marlise Tkaczuk, and Adrianne Waxman.

The Fleisher Art Memorial was founded by industrialist Samuel S. Fleisher in 1898 and is renowned for its mission of making art accessible to everyone regardless of economic means, background or artistic experience. Fleisher Art Memorial is one of the nation's first community-based art centers, providing free and low-cost studio art classes along with opportunities for beginning and seasoned artists to exhibit their work in a professional gallery setting. Fleisher's arts education programming reaches deeply into local schools and community centers, and has brought the organization national recognition and powerful opportunities to advocate for and shape arts education initiatives throughout the region and the country.
