Congressman Steve King At N'east GOP Event

Iowa’s Fourth District Congressman Steve King is officially confirmed to speak at the Northeast Republican Leadership Conference this June in Philadelphia.

“Congressman Steve King is one of the most well-known voices in Republican politics today,” Republican Party of Pennsylvania Chairman Rob Gleason said. “Congressman Steve King deeply believes in the greatness of our Constitution and our country, and I look forward to hearing from him in Philadelphia this June.”

“I am glad to have an opportunity to discuss the future of conservatism with my fellow Republicans in Philadelphia,” Congressman King said. “At such a critical time in our country’s history, it is now more important than ever that Republicans have an open discussion about the importance of conservatism in our Party.”

About Congressman Steve King

Steve King grew up in a law enforcement family in Storm Lake, Iowa.

After studying math and science at Northwest Missouri State University, he started King Construction in 1975 and built the business up from one bulldozer. He brings valuable knowledge to Congress as an agribusinessman and a small business owner for 28 years. King's oldest son now owns the construction business.

After serving in the Iowa State Senate for six years, King was elected to Congress in 2002 to represent Iowa's Fifth Congressional District. During the 2012 election cycle, Iowa was redistricted to four districts. King now represents the Fourth Congressional District in the 114th Congress, and serves on the Agriculture, Small Business and Judiciary Committees.

King, who keeps a copy of the Constitution with him, is a proud Constitutional Conservative. Congressman King and his wife Marilyn have three sons and seven grandchildren.

He served as Chair of Penn State University's Professional Advisory Board for the Corporate Communication major at Penn State Abington and on the Pennsylvania Bar Association's Judicial Selection Commission.

He received his MA degree from Rowan University and his BA from Villanova University. He has been named a Distinguished Alumnus of Rowan's public relations program and received the E. A. "Wally" Richter Leadership Award, the highest honor from the National Association of Bar Executives' Communications Section. He has also been honored by numerous other local, state and national groups.

In his hometown of Camden, Cirucci taught fifth grade at the Ulysses Wiggins Elementary School named for the founder of the Camden NAACP. There he was one of the first teachers in the country to teach African-American history to inner city students. He later served as editor of a local weekly newspaper, as Assistant to the Township Manager of Cherry Hill Township and as Associate Director of Communications at the New Jersey State Bar Association.

Cirucci's passions include politics, the popular culture, books and authors, art, communication, music, theatre, movies, dining and travel.
