Catholic Schools Help Diocesan Food Cupbards

Archdiocese of Philadelphia Nutritional Development Services (NDS) have formally closed the 2015 Peanut Butter and Jelly Drive. NDS will recognize Charles Wieners, Moderator of Community Service Corps and students for their donations. Superintendent of Secondary Schools and Archbishop Prendergast alum, Sister Maureen McDermott spoke briefly about the success of the drive.

About 60 Archdiocesan elementary and high schools and all four Archdiocesan Senior Centers collected approximately 50,000 pounds of peanut butter and jelly for local food cupboards.

Nutritional Development Services provides meals, food assistance and additional support to organizations serving children and the poor as an extension of the services and mission of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. The PB&J drive helps keep the 40 food cupboards serviced by NDS stocked with peanut butter and jelly for the year.
