Cherry Hill Launches Mobile App For Residents

As part of Mayor Dave Fleisher’s efforts to improve township communications, Cherry Hill has launched a mobile application that will facilitate direct communication with residents. The township has also redesigned the website which now has greater functionality and accessibility.

“Smartphones put the whole world at our fingertips and now residents will have their local government at their fingertips as well,” said Mayor Fleisher. “The app will allow us to send ‘push’ notifications with important updates on traffic, public safety and township events. Residents will be able to customize which notifications they receive based on their interests. This, coupled with the new website, should make it that much easier for residents to stay up to date and access the services they need.”

The “My Cherry Hill” initiative, is a cross platform approach to reach residents and provide the community new ways to explore, engage and connect with Cherry Hill. In addition to the website and app, the township has also revamped their social media efforts and redesigned their weekly newsletter.

The new My Cherry Hill app will allow residents to receive news and alerts and report concerns right from their phone. After creating an account, users will be able to select which types of notifications they would like to receive to customize their experience.

“Improving residents communications and strengthening our constituent services has been a focal point of mine and town council,” Mayor Fleisher added. “This initiative is one more way we are making it easier for residents to reach out and get assistance.”

The new website features “storefronts” on each department page making it easier for residents to find what they are looking for and access the services they need.
