President Trump’s approval jumped to 54 percent The post-summit gains apparently highlight voters’ preference for strong leadership.
- The poll, conducted over the weekend, found Trump now holds majority approval among every age group except older voters. His approval stands at 54 percent, compared to 44 percent who disapprove, giving him a +10 net rating.
- And impressively, support among minority groups increased, with 23.7 percent of black voters and 47.2 percent of Hispanic voters approving of Trump’s performance. White voter approval is at 64 percent, close to a record high.
- Republicans continue to overwhelmingly back Trump at 92 percent, while 50.4 percent of independents and nearly 18 percent of Democrats say they approve of the job he’s doing.
50.4 percent support among independents represents a key shift as Trump seeks to expand his coalition beyond the Republican base.
