Former Philadelphia Inquirer reporter Dotty Brown has put together a wonderful blog called UnRetiring.
The blog asks: What's it like to unstrap yourself from a lifelong career and launch into the unknown? What choices do you make? What inner voice do you follow?
And here's the deal: Dotty Brown talks with people on their journey to what she calls "the next great thing." In other words, she talks to the people who have actually done it, or are doing it.
Dotty's blog is loaded with keen insights from real people and it contains fascinating tips on how to navigate into a new phase of your life: what to do and what to avoid.
I always tell people that this type of transition must be viewed as "turning a page" and beginning a new chapter. But you've got to go into it with your eyes open and you've got to put aside some preconceptions. If you view it as an adventure -- a real opportunity -- and if you're the UnRetiring type you can be in for the most exciting and rewarding time you've ever had.
Anyway -- don;t miss UnRetiring.
