Coverup? Menendez Employed Sex Offender And . . .

The following by our favorite fellow blogger Matt Rooney is cross-posted from the Save Jersey blog:

Suddenly, trips to the Dominican Republic aren’t as interesting to me, Save Jerseyans.

According to The Associated Press, “U.S. Sen. Robert Menendez employed as an unpaid intern in his Senate office an illegal immigrant who was a registered sex offender, now under arrest by immigration authorities, The Associated Press has learned. The Homeland Security Department instructed federal agents not to arrest him until after Election Day, a U.S. official involved in the case told the AP.” [Emphasis Added.]

Sigh…

Click here to read the alleged details from the AP.

Update (8:50 pm): Responding to the AP’s report, Senator Menendez told MSNBC this afternoon “[t]here’s no way we could know about his status… [t]here’s no way we could know about any allegation as a juvenile of what his background would be in terms of criminality.”

And don't forget the story from The Drudge Report and other sources:

Senator Menendez is a disgrace to the people of New Jersey!
