From our good friends at Save Jersey:

Here’s a fun one to kick-off your long weekend, Save Jerseyans…Hidden at the bottom of NPR’s story on the jailing of Kim Davis, the Rowan County, Kentucky clerk who is refusing to issue same sex marriage licenses, you’ll almost miss this juicy little nugget. And you’ll immediately understand why the media buried it:
Wow! Check that out.— She Was Elected To Her Position: Davis, a Democrat, won a 2014 election for Rowan County clerk handily — 53 percent to 46 percent.
A “bigot” with a (D) at the end of her surname who defeated some Republican named John C. Cox.
Imagine that.
Maybe she just didn’t get the memo? Her party’s leading female politico, Hillary “Hilldawg” Clinton (D-A Server Somewhere) was against gay marriage until about 5 minutes ago. But given that Hillary’s gay marriage flip-flop is certain to hurt her in what’s looking like an increasingly competitive Democrat primary season, I can appreciate why Ms. Davis’s status as an ELECTED DEMOCRAT CLERK is an inconvenient detail for liberals reporting on this story. Imagine what they’d be saying if Davis was a registered Republican.
In any event, if you want my take on this mess, folks, here’s a great explanation of why Kim Davis is wrong from none other than Justice Scalia (commenting not on this case specifically, of course, but the applicable principles of constitutional law).
