Buy From Food Truck, Help Afterschool Programs

Catholic Social Services of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia Out of School Time Programs will sponsor a Lights On Afterschool event to showcase the talent of the over 2000 at-risk youth in Philadelphia served by its programs.
The Philly Truck 4 Kids Fall Festival will be one of more than an expected 8,000 such events around the nation, organized by the Afterschool Alliance to provide support for programs that serve at-risk youth.

Philly Trucks 4 Kids Fall Festival
Saturday, October 24, 2015
11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Holy Innocents School (parking lot)
4251 L Street, Philadelphia, PA 19124

Key participants in the Lights On Afterschool-Philly Trucks 4 Kids Fall Festival initiative will include members of the Philadelphia 76ers Dance Team who will appear to show support for Catholic Social Services Afterschool Programs, as well as numerous food trucks that will be present to serve their specialties and donate between 10%-15% of the event proceeds to help raise funds to support these afterschool programs.
The event seeks to bring awareness and support for afterschool opportunities so that every child who needs an afterschool program has access to one.
Afterschool programs inspire children to learn, keep them safe in the sometimes perilous afternoon hours, and relieve working families of worries about their children's activities outside of school time. Attention surrounding this event will call on lawmakers not to deny or divert funding for afterschool programs.

Catholic Social Services opened its afterschool programs in Philadelphia over twenty years ago. Its mission is to serve as a safe and academically inspiring environment for over two thousand children each year.
