Catholic School Students for Catholic Charities is an annual fundraising initiative that connects students to the Archdiocese of Philadelphia’s mission. By encouraging students to assist in fundraising first hand, they are learning how to show compassion, humility, and charity to the vulnerable and in need.

The money raised by Catholic School Students for Catholic Charities will support the schools of Special Education in the Archdiocese: Archbishop Ryan Academy for the Deaf, Saint Lucy Day School for Children with Visual Impairments, Saint Katherine Day School and Our Lady of Confidence Day School.

Students developed creative and unique fundraisers within their local school communities such as dress down days, a basketball tournament, raffles and more. The one elementary school and the one high school from the Archdiocese of Philadelphia that raised the most money will be recognized at this annual event.

The 2017 Catholic Charities Appeal (CCA) is the single largest fundraising initiative of the Archdiocese. This year’s Appeal focuses on “Giving Hope to All” and ensures the vitality of countless organizations and ministries throughout the five-county Archdiocese. Programs receiving funding from CCA include housing for the homeless, community food cupboards, afterschool academic enrichment and recreational opportunities for youth, and family support services.
