Don't Waste Your Time On Tears For Snooty Colbert

As far back as I can remember, it's always been this way with me. Always.

I hate snobs. I loathe and detest them. In fact, under my photo in my high school yearbook it says: "snobs of all kind make up his black list."

And I've always been able to instinctively identify a snob faster than you can say "snoot". Consequently, I've never liked Stephen Colbert. Nope. I was not a fan when he was on the vastly overrated Daily Show and certainly not when he took over The Late Show on CBS.

Even this guy's fancy French name (prounced Col-bair) sounds prétentieux. And that precisely describe the man himself. He's a self-absorbed, biased elitist and a windbag.

So, don't give CBS's dismissal of Colbert or the end of The Late Show a second thought. And by all means, don't cry for him. He was reportedly raking in $15 to $20 million a year while the network was losing $40 million annually. What's really astonishing here is that he remained on the air as long as he did, especially when you consider that the average age of his typical viewer was, wait for it -- 68!

The monotonous nightly Colberfest wasn't funny, it wasn't particularly entertaining and it broke no new ground. In fact it was smug, repetitive and ultimately dreary.

I would say Au revoir, Stéphane but that implies that we will meet again, and frankly I'm not looking to see or hear from Colbert anytime soon. So, I'll just say ne laisse pas la porte te frapper au cul. BuhBye!
