What The Hell Is Happening In Cuba?

- July 11, 2023 -

Statement by Donald J. Trump, 45th President

of the United States

On the anniversary of the July 11 protests in Cuba, Joe Biden has betrayed the Cuban people and surrendered Cuba to Communist China. By allowing China to sink their teeth into the island and establish military bases 90 miles off our shore, something unthinkable, Biden not only risks our own national security, but he abandons the dream of freedom for those many amazing Cuban Americans who under my administration, were going to get their wish.

Today, we also ask God to strengthen and watch over all the political prisoners and protestors being cruelly held captive by this evil regime. Three years ago, the Cuban nightmare was ready to end. The Biden administration has given it up - but I will get it back again. We pray for the day when all of Cuba will be free.

Happening Everywhere But Media Not Covering

This was yesterday in Philly in front of the Art Museum -- home of the famous "Rocky" steps.
These demonstrations are happening everywhere -- all over the country.
But the Biden Administration doesn't want you to know about it. And the media aren't covering these events.
Who ever thought we'd see a day like this in our great nation? Wake up, America!

Here's Who Stands With The Cuban People . . .

July 15, 2021

Statement by Donald J. Trump, 45th President

of the United States of America

The proud people of Cuba are desperate to be free from the iron boot heel of the Island’s wicked Communist Regime.  These incredible warriors for freedom risk everything to take to the streets in their quest for freedom.  I stand in total solidarity with the freedom fighters in Cuba and the brave Cuban Americans who have watched their families suffer in the motherland at the hands of this heartless and brutal regime.

The Biden Administration’s refusal to forcefully condemn Communism and the Cuban Communist Regime is a national travesty.  The Biden Administration's ludicrous suggestion that the Cubans are protesting government mismanagement—not brutal Communist oppression—is an insult to every Cuban patriot who has suffered, been imprisoned, or died in pursuit of freedom.

Today’s Democrat Party is so far left they can’t even take a stand against violent Communism.  Many are Communists themselves!

As President, I advanced a strategic vision in which the people of Cuba, Venezuela, and Nicaragua would be free, and that the Western Hemisphere would be the first fully free hemisphere in all of human history.  The Biden Administration is squandering a historic opportunity to stand for freedom and human rights in our home region.  The Biden Administration is betraying the freedom-loving people of Cuba.  I fought for Cuba, they didn’t.

Well, He Has Always Praised And Defended Cuba!

Perez, Other Cuban Prelates Speak Out!

“In dramatic and courageous images that have been seen throughout the world, the people of Cuba went to the streets in massive demonstrations of solidarity, in towns, villages and cities on July 11 and 12.  Their motto ‘Patria y Vida expressed their frustrations as they experience record cases of Covid-19, a lack of vaccines, adequate medical care and needed supplies – inhuman circumstances that add to the existing lack of food and essential human necessities.  Their chant of ‘Libertad’ underscores their desire for every Cuban citizen to enjoy basic human rights, as recognized as part of our human dignity by the United Nations, and defended for centuries by the Catholic Church in its social teaching.

As Cubans and as bishops of the Catholic Church in the United States, we are ever-mindful of the constant suffering and frustration of our brothers and sisters on the Island.  We recognize that, while hundreds of thousands have experienced the need to emigrate, in order to enjoy basic human rights and a future filled with possibilities, those who have not – by choice or inability to do so - as Cubans in Cuba, are to be the actors of their own future and aspirations.  The right and courage of the people in Cuba to raise their voice publicly, casting away their fear of repression and revealing authentic solidarity as a people, are acknowledged and applauded.

We, Cuban-American bishops, join in solidarity with the Cuban people in their quest for responses to their human rights and needs.  We are deeply troubled by the aggressive reaction of the government to the peaceful manifestations, recognizing that ‘violence engenders violence.’   Such a reaction seems to negate the basic Cuban principle of having ‘una patria con todos y para el bien de todos’ (a homeland with all and for the good of all).  We stand in solidarity with those detained because they have voiced their opinions.  We pray for their families and call for their immediate release.

Finally, we call on international governments and all charitable organizations to collaborate in assisting in this urgent humanitarian crisis for the sake of the suffering people of Cuba, especially the sick and the poor. We commend the care of Caritas Cubana, as it continues to mediate – with ever so limited resources – a response to the basic human needs of the people of the Island, recognizing that the alleviation of suffering is a moral imperative.

As always, together with our brother-bishops in Cuba, and our brothers and sisters inside and outside the Island. We continue to place our trust in the motherly gaze of the patroness of Cuba, Our Lady of Charity.”

Trump: Get Tough; Stand Up For Cuban Freedom

July 12, 2021

Statement by Donald J. Trump, 45th President

of the United States of America

Big demonstrations are breaking out in Cuba and Miami in protest of the Communist Cuban Government (although, today there are zero protesters in Cuba—you know what that means!). Don’t forget that Biden and the Democrats campaigned on reversing my very tough stance on Cuba. Remember when Obama attended baseball games with Castros while they imprisoned, beat, and killed the Cuban people. I stand with the Cuban people 100% in their fight for freedom. The Government must let them speak and be free! Joe Biden MUST stand up to the Communist regime or—history will remember. The Cuban people deserve freedom and human rights!  THEY ARE NOT AFRAID!

How Radical Can Dems Get? Outrageously Radical!

From our friends at Save Jersey (reprinted with permission)
Note - The "today" referenced in this article was yesterday, April 3:
No less than eight current 2020 Democrat presidential candidates are visiting the Warner Theater in Washington D.C. for today’s “We the People” summit.
According to Fox News, the conference of far-left activists opened with Jamal Watkins, Vice President of “Civic Engagement” for the NAACP, leading attendees in a chant of “We have nothing to lose but our chains.” That slogan is associated with notorious cop-killer Joanne Chesimard who murdered New Jersey State Trooper Werner Foerster on the New Jersey Turnpike back in 1973.

Chesimard is presently hiding in Cuba despite her conviction in absentia.
NJSP Colonel Patrick Callahan issued a fiery statement after the Fox story broke.
“It is an affront to every man and woman who wears the badge that someone would chose to evoke the words of a convicted cop killer and fugitive from justice at a political conference,” said Callahan. “The men and women of the New Jersey State Police will never forget the sacrifice made by Trooper Werner Foerster on May 2, 1973 nor will we forget that the person convicted of his murder remains a fugitive for nearly 40 years. We will remain steadfast, both in the pursuit of Joanne Chesimard and in the preservation of the memory of Trooper Werner Foerster, Badge #2608.”
Notwithstanding her heinous history, Chesimard remains a pop culture icon in certain Leftist circles, having been honored by both the Women’s March and, later, Jet Blue before the airline giant apologized.

Bernie Saunders' Cuban And Nicaraguan Ties . . .

In 1985 Bernie Sanders praised the communist Castro regime in Cuba and admitted on camera that he traveled to Nicaragua to advise the communist Ortega regime on how to successfully fight the United States. Watch this video and listen to Sanders closely.
Take particular note of his derisive and dismissive attitude toward Ronald Reagan.
Remember: the end goal of socialism is communism!

'Socialism Is About Power, NOT Equality!'

A crowd of Venezuelan Americans stood before President Donald J. Trump in Miami yesterday, cheering as he put America squarely on the side of those fighting for freedom. “We’re here to proclaim a new day is coming in Latin America,” he said. “In Venezuela and across the western hemisphere, socialism is dying and liberty, prosperity, and democracy are being reborn.”

His message to Nicolas Maduro: “Let your people go.”

American leadership is making the difference. The United States and more than 50 countries across the world have recognized the rightful government of Venezuela. “Within 30 minutes, the United States was proud to be the first nation in the world to recognize President [Juan] Guaido” as the country’s interim leader, President Trump said.

Venezuela, Cuba, and Nicaragua offer a lesson to the world: Socialism always promises unity but delivers division and hatred. It promises a better future—and inevitably returns to the darkest chapters of the past. Not long ago, Venezuela was the richest country in South America. Today, after its tyrannical government nationalized industries and took over private business, nearly 90 percent of Venezuelans live in poverty.

Americans know this history well, having witnessed socialism destroy countries throughout the 20th century. Nearly three-fifths of Americans have an unfavorable view of socialism; a majority have a favorable view of capitalism. Support for far-left schemes such as Medicare-for-All has plummeted as voters learn more about what’s in it. The extremist “Green New Deal” is beginning to suffer the same fate.

“We know that socialism is not about justice. It’s not about equality; it’s not about lifting up the poor,” President Trump said yesterday. “Socialism is about one thing only: power for the ruling class. And the more power they get, the more they crave . . . All of us here today know that there is nothing less democratic than socialism.”

Watch: “The United States of America is standing right by their side.”

Worth sharing: “We are born free, and we will stay free—now and forever.

The Space Force is here

President Trump signed Space Policy Directive-4 this afternoon, marking a bold step toward American space dominance by setting in motion the process of creating a U.S. Space Force as the sixth branch of our Armed Forces.

The Directive calls on the Secretary of Defense to develop a legislative proposal for the Space Force, embodying President Trump’s vision for keeping Americans safe:
  • Strengthen America’s ability to compete—and win—in an increasingly contested domain

  • Organize, train, and equip our space warfighters with next-generation capabilities

  • Maximize successful warfighting capability while minimizing bureaucracy

Peace through strength has been President Trump’s foreign policy since day one, and this newest frontier is no exception. The United States is the best in space, and our adversaries know it. They want to restrict our access there to undermine our strategic advantage. With the U.S. Space Force up and running, that won’t happen.

Get the facts: America’s destiny in space is secure.

New Policy Changes: What You Need To Know!

President Donald J. Trump is changing the policy of the United States toward Cuba to achieve four objectives:

1) Enhance compliance with United States law—in particular the provisions that govern the embargo of Cuba and the ban on tourism;
2) Hold the Cuban regime accountable for oppression and human rights abuses ignored under the Obama policy;
3) Further the national security and foreign policy interests of the United States and those of the Cuban people; and
4) Lay the groundwork for empowering the Cuban people to develop greater economic and political liberty.

Summary of Key Policy Changes:
  • The new policy channels economic activities away from the Cuban military monopoly, Grupo de Administración Empresarial (GAESA), including most travel-related transactions, while allowing American individuals and entities to develop economic ties to the private, small business sector in Cuba. The new policy makes clear that the primary obstacle to the Cuban people’s prosperity and economic freedom is the Cuban military’s practice of controlling virtually every profitable sector of the economy. President Trump’s policy changes will encourage American commerce with free Cuban businesses and pressure the Cuban government to allow the Cuban people to expand the private sector.
  • The policy enhances travel restrictions to better enforce the statutory ban on United States tourism to Cuba. Among other changes, travel for non-academic educational purposes will be limited to group travel. The self-directed, individual travel permitted by the Obama administration will be prohibited. Cuban-Americans will be able to continue to visit their family in Cuba and send them remittances.
  • The policy reaffirms the United States statutory embargo of Cuba and opposes calls in the United Nations and other international forums for its termination. The policy also mandates regular reporting on Cuba’s progress—if any—toward greater political and economic freedom.
  • The policy clarifies that any further improvements in the United States-Cuba relationship will depend entirely on the Cuban government’s willingness to improve the lives of the Cuban people, including through promoting the rule of law, respecting human rights, and taking concrete steps to foster political and economic freedoms.
  • The policy memorandum directs the Treasury and Commerce Departments to begin the process of issuing new regulations within 30 days. The policy changes will not take effect until those Departments have finalized their new regulations, a process that may take several months. The Treasury Department has issued Q&As that provide additional detail on the impact of the policy changes on American travelers and businesses.
