Walter Cronkite's old map of the world is back.
If you remember the CBS Evening News with Walter Cronkite you probably remember this map but you'll also probably notice that it has been updated. It's now in a rich gold tone and is ready for HDTV. Cronkite used to sit in front of this map.
Now, you can find it on"CBS This Morning."
Yes, new day has dawned in morning TV, with the start of "CBS This Morning" which debuted today.
The program is hosted by Charlie Rose, Gayle King and Erica Hill and airs from 7 to 9 a.m. ET, and at the same time in other time zones.
In addition to the three co-hosts, John Miller is on board as senior correspondent. Rebecca Jarvis is the business and economics correspondent and Jeff Glor (one of our favorites) serves as a special correspondent.
Chris Licht, executive producer of "CBS This Morning," will continue his role as vice president of programming, overseeing CBS News broadcasts and the development of new opportunities across all platforms.
The style, tone, and content of the new morning program extends CBS News' commitment to original reporting and journalistic integrity.
The broadcast presents a mix of daily news, coverage of developing stories of national and global significance, and interviews with leading figures in politics, business and entertainment.
On CBSNews.com, the show's content will be featured in these sections on the broadcast's website:
- What's Hot: The most talked about stories of the day including what's trending online and what's going viral.
- Politics & Power: Comprehensive coverage of all things Washington and the 2012 election.
- Morning Money: What's happening with the economy and stories that directly affect your financial well being.
- HealthWatch: The biggest health stories of the day.
- Talking Points: Highlights from the show including interviews and memorable moments.
- The Charlie Rose Interview: One of the great interviewers in the history of the medium sits down with newsmakers, celebrities, and people of interest.

I know this was on The CBS Evening News with Walter Cronkite but it was seen by more
people as the background for the Dan Rather era and on CBS Newsbreak cut-ins during
prime time.
Just sayin!
