Ten Worst Hotel/Motel Chains In America

Stayed at any bad hotels or motels lately?
What plagued you? Was it mold in the shower? Creepy crawlers? An outdated big box? Dirty carpets? Torn curtains? Dented furniture? Or was the room just totally shabby?
Well, those may be considered minor problems once you read about America's ten worst hotel/motel chains and you discover what some of the complaints were.
The Fiscal Times recently assembled the "worst" list from two compilations of hotel.motel ratings, one by Consumer Reports and the other by J. D. Powers. According to them, here are the chains you want to avoid:

7. Days Inn
6. Ramada
5. Super 8
4. Red Roof Inn
3. Clarion
2. Quality
1. Beymont Inn & Suites
