Authors Speak At Free Upcoming Philly Library Events

Don't miss these events at the Free Library of Philadelphia.

Author Events are held in the Montgomery Auditorium at the Parkway Central Library, 1901 Vine Street, unless noted. Events generally consist of a talk by the author and a Q & A period with the audience followed by a book signing. Books are sold on-site. Seating begins 45 minutes prior to event start times. No tickets orreservations are required for Free Author Events.

Telex From Cuba
Rachel Kushner's"multilayered and absorbing" first novel about wealthy Americans in pre-Castro Cuba, was a finalist for the 2008 National Book Award and a New York TimesNotable Book. Kushner is the recipient of a 2013 Guggenheim Fellowship, and was a Visiting Writer to Syracuse University's MFA Program in Creative Writing. Her new novel traces the jagged trajectory of a young woman through the 1970s New York art scene and the Italian underground. The book was a finalist for the 2013 National Book Award and a New York Times Top Ten book of 2013.
