Flyers To Salute Firefighters Thursday Night

The Philadelphia Flyers will recognize the Philadelphia Fire Department during Fire Department Appreciation Night at the Wells Fargo Center on Thursday, February 6 during the 7 p.m. Flyers vs. Colorado Avalanche game.

This special theme night will begin with the Flyers wearing the Fire Department crest on the right chest of their home sweaters during warm-ups. The entire roster of jerseys will be available for auction online at auctions.nhl.com beginning on Wednesday, February 19, with proceeds benefitting the Citizens for Fire Prevention Committee and Flyers Charities.

The Philadelphia Fire Department Honor Guard Unit will present the colors on-ice during Lauren Hart’s performance of the National Anthem. Members of the Fire Department stationed with Ladder Company 12 in North Philadelphia will be the night’s special guests in Flyers Captain Claude Giroux’s “Giroux’s Crew” suite.

Philadelphia Firefighter of the Year Brandon Mlodzinski will be honored as the “Virtua Community Teammate” of the game for his service and acts of heroism. A highlight video will tell Mlodzinski’s special story during a break in the action, and he will be presented with a personalized Flyers jersey in recognition of his services from Flyers Ambassador of Hockey Bob “The Hound” Kelly.

Children 12 and younger will receive a commemorative Fire Department red helmet on their way into the game to celebrate the special night. Additional fire tips and information about the Fire Department will be available on the Main Concourse.

The Flyers host the Colorado Avalanche on Thursday, February 6 at 7 p.m. and the Calgary Flames on Saturday, February 8 at 1 p.m. Tickets are still available by calling 215-218-PUCK (7825) and visiting PhiladelphiaFlyers.com.
