Great Marching Bands Headed To Philly Area


The top musical athletes in the world will march into the spotlight in the DCI Tour of Champions at PPL Park Chester, PA on Thursday, July 30 beginning at 7:30PM in drum and bugle corps exclusive Philadelphia-area appearance this summer.

Seven marching music ensembles comprised of 150 young people representing the very finest in brass, percussion and dance performance will entertain and excite thousands of fans in PPL Park in this unique evening of family entertainment.

Featured in the competition which is part of the eight-event nationwide DCI Tour of Champions Series will be the 10-time World Champion Cadets from Allentown, PA, the 16-time World Champions Blue Devils of Concord, CA, the 7-time World Champion The Cavaliers of Rosemont, IL, the 2013 World Champion Carolina Crown of Fort Mill, SC, the 2-time World Champion Phantom Regiment of Rockford, IL, the 6-time World Champion Santa Clara Vanguard of Santa Clara, CA and the Bluecoats of Canton, OH.

The DCI Tour of Champions ensembles feature members under the age of 22 who are proficient in three demands: brass, percussion and color guard/dance. Each group performs a twelve minute production based on a wide variety of musical styles from popular music to classical, jazz to original compositions, while combining virtuoso musicianship and athletic demands with a tapestry of color and dance to explore the themes of their program.
