President Donald Trump’s popular daughter Ivanka has assumed a lead role selling tax reform in small venue events across the country this fall season. That push has become all the more critical for Republicans with recent highly-publicized election losses and the Midterm cycle quickly approaching.
Ivanka’s next stop? Congressman Tom MacArthur (R, NJ-03) will host the first daughter and Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin this Monday, November 13th at 10:30 AM at the Bayville Fire Hall in Berkeley Township, Ocean County.
The President and his congressional allies, including MacArthur, are attempting the first overhaul in the U.S. tax code in 31 years.
MacArthur, whose district encompasses most of Burlington and Ocean counties and for whom the President hosted a rare high dollar fundraiser back in June, has been an outspoken advocate for tax reform and retaining the property tax deduction.
Not every N.J. Republican is on board. Rep. Leonard Lance (R, NJ-07), who is also expected to face a serious challenge next November, has derided the current tax reform proposals as picking “winner states over loser states.”
Donald Trump carried Ocean County by over 90,000 votes in 2016.
