Building on the strong and extraordinary support the Governor has received in his reelection from leaders and organizations of New Jersey’s Hispanic community, Governor Christie today received the endorsement and support of the Passaic County Hispanic Clergy Organization, which represents over 120 clergy members and religious leaders in Passaic County, and 33 individual leaders of the Hispanic Clergy community from across New Jersey. “Our efforts to establish ongoing, lasting relationships with the Hispanic community have been built on a foundation of dialogue and mutual respect. These aren’t built overnight and I’m especially proud of the partnerships we’ve formed and the work we’ve done together to create opportunity across New Jersey,” said Governor Christie. “I’m thankful for the broad showing of support from our Hispanic community, religious leaders, and from diverse communities all across our state – from everybody who cares about shedding old partisan divisions and making our state better.” The Passaic County Hispanic Clergy Organization represents over 120 clergy members and religious leaders in churches throughout Passaic County. In addition, 33 individual Hispanic clergy leaders from across New Jersey announced their support and endorsement of Governor Christie today (see below). The showing of support follows the July launch of the Hispanics for Christie coalition along with its statewide leadership team. The Governor has made Hispanic outreach a key element of his reelection campaign, including the launch of a Spanish-language television ad in the Primary Election, maintaining a full-time Director of Hispanic Outreach, earning the support of key leaders in the community, and engaging in a bilingual volunteer voter contact and outreach effort to Hispanic voters up and down the state. Governor Christie has been endorsed by the National Coalition of Latino Officers, the Latino Leadership Alliance of New Jersey, and elected officials representing communities with significant Hispanic populations, including Union City Mayor/Senator Brian Stack, Harrison Mayor Ray McDonough, Harrison City Councilmembers Laurence M. Bennett, Jesus R. Huaranga, James Doran, Victor Villalta, Carol Mandagilo, Michael Dolaghan, Francisco Nascimento, Anselmo Millan, and Paterson City Councilman Anthony Davis.
