On Friday, January 22 nd, faithful throughout the Archdiocese of Philadelphia and throughout the United States observed the 48 th Anniversary of the U.S. Supreme Court’s 1973 Roe v. Wade and Doe v. Bolton decisions legalizing abortion nationwide. Since that time, millions of lives have been lost to abortion.
Each year, thousands of faithful from the Archdiocese travel to Washington D.C. to participate in the National March for Life, an event that promotes the respect and protection of all human life from conception to natural death.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2021 National Rally scheduled for Friday, January 29 th, will take place virtually.
Philadelphia Mass for Life
Locally, the 2021 March for Life will kick off with the Philadelphia Mass for Life in solidarity with the National March for Life. Most Reverend Nelson J. Pérez will be the principal celebrant and homilist.

Faithful throughout the Archdiocese of Philadelphia are invited to participate safely in-person or virtually.
Beginning at 10:00 a.m., the Mass will be streamed live via Archbishop Pérez’s Facebook page ( https://www.facebook.com/ArchbishopPerez ) and the Archdiocesan Vimeo Channel ( https://vimeo.com/event/17522 ).
National March for Life Virtual Rally
The National March for Life Rally will be streamed live beginning at 12:00 p.m. The Rally will include inspiring speeches from pro-life leaders, information on how participate in the pro-life movement, and a performance by Christian singer and songwriter Matthew West.
Following the conclusion of the Rally, a small group of pro-life leaders representing pro-life Americans will march to the steps of the Supreme Court.
