Governor Welcomes African-American History Month

New Jersey Governor Chris Christie released the following statement today in recognition of National African American History Month, which is observed during February.
“I’m proud that each February New Jerseyans explore the continued accomplishments of our thriving African American community and pay tribute to the trailblazing achievements that have shaped our state’s diversity and history.
 “I encourage all New Jerseyans to join me in honoring the many contributions made by African Americans throughout our state and our nation. The lessons we learn by studying their experiences provide a powerful example to all New Jersey residents, regardless of race, socio-economic status, or gender.”
Governor Christie also proclaimed February as “Black History Month” throughout New Jersey
