Time For Chesney To Hang Up His Flip-Flops?
In Pittsburgh, the excitement over country star Kenny Chesney Saturday apparently proved to be a bit too much for some people. By the time it was all over there were several fights and numerous arrests.
Yes, Chesney is the most lucrative act on tour and his appearances are daylong events. And as they’ve grown, so have the problems. It's a shame but it seems the annual ChesneyFest has become nothing more than an all-day drinking orgy -- and God know's what else -- all in the name of excess.
Police say 49 people were arrested inside Pittsburgh's Heinz field during the concert, with another 24 arrests near the venue on the North Shore. Police say most of the arrests were for disorderly conduct, public intoxication and aggravated assault. The participants also left a huge mound of trash.
Hey, as country singers go, Chesney is no great shakes. And both the act and Chesney have grown old and tiresome. Our advice: Hang up your flip flips, Kenny. It's over.
