A word of caution: As someone who spent nearly a lifetime amidst the cushy confines of the judiciary at every level (yes, right up to and including the US Supreme Court) I can tell you that judges are occasionally overcome with Robitis (pronunced ROBE-eye-tis).
It happens to even some seemingly modest and unassuming men and women when they don those black robes, pick up that gavel and their presence is announced with fanfare and they're addressed as "Your Honor." Some of them begin to think they are immortal and somehow endowed with almost divine power and insight.
Also, since they do not live in a monastery, they are not immune to external influences.
In time, their rulings can begin to take on an increasingly arbitrary, biased or even imperious tone.
Don't doubt me on this. It DOES happen.
BTW: consider, for example, that a judge can hold you in contempt of court and even have you jailed virtually at will. Never, ever underestimate the reach and immense, near-unbridled power of the judiciary.
