There was no shortage of meaningful Memorial Day events throughout our New Jersey villages, towns, and cities that our governor, Mikie Sherrill, could have attended to honor the men and women, and their families, who paid the ultimate price for the freedoms we enjoy in this great Republic. Instead, she chose to spend her time, as our governor, creating photo ops at the Delaney Hall immigration detention center in Newark.

At what has been appropriately labeled “a political stunt,” she stood alongside Democrat federal representatives and masked agitators blocking the private facility and demanding its closure over rumors of a hunger strike by detainees and inhumane conditions inside, accusations denied by Department of Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin.

Unlike federal lawmakers, our governor has no right to tour Delaney Hall unannounced. That right is reserved for members of Congress and certain other federal officials with oversight responsibilities and has been repeatedly upheld by the courts. The Virginia born-and-bred former congresswoman has been in the governor’s office only a few months, but seems to have forgotten that she, willingly one assumes, traded Capitol Hill for the golden dome on West State Street in Trenton.

As governor of the great Garden State, Sherrill has influence and executive power to fix the plethora of problems created here after decades of majority Democrat (mis)governance. New Jersey’s 1947 Constitution makes the governor chief executive of all State departments. Since she has demonstrated great concern and compassion for the incarcerated, she might look to the state’s own crumbling prison infrastructure. Stern Warning To Sherrill From NJ State Senator

New Jersey State Senator Michael Testa (R-Atlantic, Cumberland, Cape May) issued the following statement, commending New Jersey State law enforcement for restoring order and protecting public safety after months of inflammatory rhetoric and political grandstanding from Democratic leaders.

“I appreciate Governor Sherrill’s decision to cooperate with federal authorities and deploy the New Jersey State Police to restore order at Delaney Hall,” said Senator Testa. “The brave men and women of law enforcement, both state and federal, deserve our gratitude for standing their ground to protect peaceful protesters, nearby residents, and public safety in the face of escalating unrest from violent agitators. I hope that none of our law enforcement at the local, state, or national level were injured as a result of the unlawful violent actions of rioters.

“Unfortunately, this cooperation comes after months of hateful rhetoric and political posturing that fueled the very tensions we have witnessed in Newark. Republicans warned from the beginning that Governor Sherrill’s creation of an ICE reporting portal, encouraging citizens to monitor and report on federal immigration enforcement operations, and portrayal of federal agents as villains would only undermine confidence in federal law enforcement and make an already volatile situation worse.

“What began as a Democratic publicity stunt has now placed New Jersey squarely in the national spotlight, and worse, the lives of our brave law enforcement officers in harm’s way. This should serve as a lesson that when political grandstanding reaches the level of making law enforcement’s job more dangerous, you’ve gone too far. It’s now time for Democrats to put public safety ahead of photo-ops and cooperate with federal authorities to remove dangerous criminals from our communities who’ve been convicted of rape, murder, pedophilia, and human trafficking.

“Thank you Governor Sherril for supporting President Trump and the brave men and women of ICE as they work to protect our citizens and uphold our Constitution.”

To all New Jerseyans: This Memorial Day weekend, Americans across the country paused to honor the brave men and women who gave their lives defending our nation and our freedoms. But in New Jersey, Mikie Sherrill and other Democrat elected officials made anti-ICE protests in Newark their priority instead. Man Charged With Assaulting Easter Bunny At Mall

It was a New Jersey man, folks -- and though it certainly sounds like an "only in Joizee" story, it happened in Pittsburgh.. A week before the bunny's Big Day, a New Jersey man has been charged with sexually assaulting the Easter bunny at the South Hills Village Mall in the Pittsburgh area.

And this is no joke because he's facing criminal charges for assualting the woman who was in an Easter bunny costume.

According to the criminal complaint, 36-year-old Bera Shivakrishna fondled the woman. 

News reports say the woman was taking pictures with children and families who were there to see her dressed as the bunny, when a man approached her and began to ask her questions. She referred the questions to an assistant but that didn't seem to sit well with the man who began touching the woman/bunny's arm, then the top of her chest, and then reportedly grabbed her breasts.

According to the assistant, prior to the alleged assault, he asked questions such as "Is it a boy or a girl?" He allegedly grabbed the woman dressed as the bunny and began to put his fingers in the nose and mouth of the costume.

Police later found the suspect asleep in the AMC Theater next to the mall. He was arrested and charged indecent assault.
