Trump Jawboning Private Sector On Prices

President Donald J. Trump inherited an economy battered by years of inflation that crushed working families. Through bold action to restore American energy dominance, slash red tape, and secure fair trade, the Trump Administration is quickly rebuilding the foundation for lasting prosperity.

That leadership is producing results. Across the country, private sector companies are responding to President Trump’s call by delivering tangible price reductions on everyday goods and services — putting money back in the pockets of American workers and families.

Groceries and Everyday Essentials

Major retailers are cutting prices on staples that hit household budgets hardest — putting real money back in the pockets of American families.
  • Giant Eagle reduced prices by an average of more than 10% on over 300 top products, including proteins, produce, and pantry favorites.
  • Walmart lowered prices on thousands of everyday items nationwide, including ground beef, fresh corn, paper plates, beverages, and more.
  • Sam’s Club cut prices on more than 250 household essentials.
  • Meijer reduced prices on more than 1,000 popular grocery and household items on a rotating basis.
  • Target reduced prices on thousands of groceries, household items, and other essentials.
  • Kroger is planning its biggest price cuts in years on thousands of items.
  • Albertsons accelerated targeted price reductions and launched its “New Lower Price” program, cutting base prices by at least 8% or $1 on items across meat, seafood, dairy, pantry staples, and other goods.
  • H-E-B dropped prices on thousands of items across its stores.
  • C&S Wholesale Grocers slashed prices on thousands of everyday items at Family Fare, VG’s Grocery, Martin’s Super Markets, and Piggly Wiggly locations across eight Midwestern states.
  • Stop & Shop lowered prices on thousands of items across nearly every department in hundreds of stores throughout the Northeast.
  • Cub Foods reduced prices by about 40% on dozens of grocery items across its Midwestern locations.
  • Piggly Wiggly Food for Less cut prices on meat and other staples across its 14 stores.
  • Costco dropped prices for many of its most popular Kirkland Signature items across multiple categories.
  • PepsiCo lowered retail prices by up to 15% on major snack brands.

Prescription Drugs

President Trump’s Most Favored Nation approach is delivering historic cuts to prescription drug prices, with 17 of the world’s largest drugmakers agreeing to bring U.S. prices in line with the lowest paid by comparable developed nations.

Energy

Key energy providers and local networks are delivering targeted savings that lower costs for consumers.
  • The Freedom Fuel Network — a coalition of 25 gas stations across the greater Philadelphia area — lowered prices by approximately 50 cents per gallon.
  • Georgia Power is lowering rates for residential customers by $50/year, delivering total savings of nearly $300 million for all customers.
  • Alliant Energy implemented a five-year rate freeze for residential customers in Iowa.
  • NiSource is set to return $1.4 billion to customers in Indiana through agreements with Amazon and Alphabet.
  • Entergy is set to return $2 billion to customers in Mississippi through an agreement with Amazon.
  • DTE Energy announced it will pause electric rate increases for at least two years.

Automobiles

American automakers are making vehicles more affordable for hardworking families.
  • Ford extended employee pricing to all U.S. customers.
  • Stellantis offered buyers 0% financing and deferred monthly payments for 90 days.
  • Chevrolet revived its classic “Heartbeat of America” campaign, offering 90 days of deferred monthly payments and multi-year 0% APR financing options.

An Important Announcement From President Trump

Donald J. Trump

@realDonaldTrump

Barack Hussein Obama’s Deal with Iran, the JCPOA, was an easy, beautiful, smooth road to a Nuclear Weapon, which Iran would have had six years ago, and would have used long before now. My Agreement with Iran is the exact opposite, A WALL TO NO NUCLEAR WEAPON! In fact, they no longer want a Nuclear Weapon, nor will they have one, either through purchase, development, or any other form of procurement. The Deal is scheduled to get signed tomorrow, and immediately after it is signed, the Hormuz Strait is OPEN TO ALL. Our relationship with Iran is a much different and better one than previous Administrations have had. Unlike Obama’s Hundreds of Billions of Dollars in payments to them, including 1.7 Billion Dollars in green, cold cash, no money will exchange hands. At the appropriate time, when all is calm, we will go in and get the Nuclear Dust, buried deep under the powerful sunken granite mountains, thanks to our beautiful B-2 Bombers and their brilliant pilots, and downblend and destroy it, whether in Iran, or the United States. We look forward to working with Iran, and the entire Middle East, long into the future. Hopefully, this process will all work out quickly, easily, and smoothly. If it doesn’t, we have the ultimate alternative, hopefully never to be used again! Thank you for your attention to this matter!!! President DONALD J. TRUMP

The Very Latest On That Iran Deal . . .

A special report from Scott Jennings via X:

After receiving a briefing from a Senior TRUMP Administration Official [SAO] on the status of the Iran negotiations (someone in the know & not just speculating), I can tell you the following: -USA IS NOT GIVING IRANIANS MONEY FOR NOTHING. All speculation and propaganda to the contrary is false. Some hardline elements of Iran’s govt (IRGC) have pushed fake stories & propaganda to try to kill this negotiation. -Iran deal is NOT done (95%, but still haggling over some language). No deal being signed today. May be a few more days before this is done. -Iran will NOT get any money or sanctions relief up front. -Iran must turn over nuclear stockpile to get anything. USA position is that failure to meet deal commitments means Iran gets nothing. -Long term USA objective is preventing Iran from having nuclear weapon. -Initial deal point is to re-establish free flow of commerce by reopening Strait of Hormuz. Deal should have 2 phases: Step 1 - Open Strait of Hormuz. Give world economy breathing room. Iran agrees to give up enriched uranium. Step 2 - Get the nuclear material turned over. Only then can Iran get sanctions relief. Bottom line: goal is to make a deal that lowers costs for Americans, calms world energy markets, and guarantees that Iranians cannot have a nuclear weapon over the long term. We aren’t there yet. Iran takes forever to get you a response on even small things. But we are close although it still could be a few days. “If we get what we are demanding, this is going to be a historic deal,” SAO says. SAO sounds prepared to do no deal at all if all Iran will do is a “bad deal.” SAO admits deal could fall apart yet. But if a deal is reached, SAO expects very senior USA admin officials to take part in a signing ceremony of some sort. Iran has agreed in principle to the framework but there are still a couple points USA isn’t satisfied with. 95% done. But literally changing words sometimes requires days in Iran’s system. Haggling over language. But USA feels like we have a commitment on nuclear stockpile and on opening Strait of Hormuz. If IRAN doesn’t deliver on commitments, they get nothing. “Iran’s ability to project power is a lot more limited than it was two months ago,” SAO says. “Their industrial base for building ballistic missiles has been substantially destroyed.”

The Peril Of Sherrill: Affordability? Say What?

Get this: Indiana’s Governor Mike Braun gave his state a gas tax holiday to relieve some of the pressure from rising gas prices. He cared about affordability and he's reviewing his stand in June to see what else he can do.

New Jersey's Governor, Mikie Sherrill talks affordability but does NOTHING. In fact, she even let a three cent gas tax hike go into effect and bragged that she had extra revenue, even though she pledged to freeze energy prices. Mike Braun in a Republican Mikie Sherrill is a Democrat

And that makes all the difference in the world. Indiana voters undertand this. They get it. New Jersey voters? DUH!

And This Is Good News Too . . .

Quick Summary Of Message From The President

"Any Iranian who fires at us, or at peaceful vessels, will be BLOWN TO HELL!" "Effective immediately, the United States Navy, the Finest in the World, will begin the process of BLOCKADING any and all Ships trying to enter, or leave, the Strait of Hormuz." "At some point, we will reach an “ALL BEING ALLOWED TO GO IN, ALL BEING ALLOWED TO GO OUT” basis, but Iran has not allowed that to happen by merely saying, “There may be a mine out there somewhere,” that nobody knows about but them." "I have also instructed our Navy to seek and interdict every vessel in International Waters that has paid a toll to Iran." "No one who pays an illegal toll will have safe passage on the high seas. We will also begin destroying the mines the Iranians laid in the Straits." "The Blockade will begin shortly. Other Countries will be involved with this Blockade. Iran will not be allowed to profit off this Illegal Act of EXTORTION. They want money and, more importantly, they want Nuclear. Additionally and, at an appropriate moment, we are fully 'LOCKED AND LOADED,' and our Military will finish up the little that is left of Iran!"

Trump Economy: Proof Is In Results!

As President Donald J. Trump visits Iowa today, he returns to a state that is clearly winning again under his leadership — even as work remains to fully reverse the economic damage of the Biden years. President Trump will not rest until every American is better off than ever before, yet meaningful relief is already reaching Iowans through sharply lower gas prices, robust economic growth, improving home affordability, tax savings, and policies that put working families first.

Iowans are clearly better off under President Trump and Republican leadership.

The Trump Administration is also delivering for Iowa homeowners — putting vital tools to work after previous administrations ignored their potential.

Over the past year:
  • Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac have empowered over 22,000 Iowa families to purchase or refinance their homes.

  • The Trump Administration has delivered more than $5.3 billion in mortgages through Fannie and Freddie, directly supporting these 22,000 Iowan families in achieving or maintaining homeownership.

  • More than 55% of all first-time homebuyers in Iowa have relied on Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac financing.

  • Nearly 3,000 Iowa families have received critical mortgage assistance from Fannie and Freddie to stay in their homes amid recovery from Biden-era challenges.

  • Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac have invested nearly $11 million in Iowa to rehabilitate and repair post-foreclosure properties, making them ready for new buyers and boosting local neighborhoods.

  • In the Des Moines area — including around today’s rally site in Clive — Fannie Mae has helped nearly 3,700 families purchase or refinance homes, driving affordability right where Iowans live and work.
The proof is in the results: Lower costs, rising wages, protected jobs, and renewed strength mean Iowa families are winning again under President Trump — and the best is yet to come. Strong Republican leadership is delivering a brighter, more prosperous future, and today’s visit drives that message home loud and clear.
