Yo, Murphy: Why Not Let Chick-fil-A Do The Job?
We wonder if it would occur to New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy that he could learn something from South Carolina.
We doubt it, but here goes: The mayor of a South Carolina town knew just who to call when a drive-thru COVID-19 vaccination site got backed up — the manager of a local Chick-fil-A.
When a computer glitch caused a backup at a vaccine clinic in Mount Pleasant, SC leaving people stuck waiting for up to an hour, the town's Mayor Will Haynie contacted Jerry Walkowiak, a manager for a local Chick-fil-A, requesting backup to help reorganize. Do we have to tell you the rest? Chick-fil-A had things running efficiently in no time at all. And if you've been to a CFA location recently you understand why that's so. If only government would learn from the best of private enterprise. huh?

Who Though 'Fast Food' Could Be THIS Good?

The new Spicy Southwest Salad at Chick-fil-A is not your ordinary salad.
It’s packed with flavor and spice - slices of grilled spicy chicken breast, crispy romaine lettuce, red cabbage, carrots, corn, black beans, grape tomatoes, Monterey and cheddar cheese. It’s served with tortilla strips, chili lime Pepitas, and creamy salsa dressing or chili lime vinaigrette.
It’s an unexpected, fiery lil’ fiesta to cure your dull-salad blues.
Enjoy this new salad in your next meal at Chick-fil-A!

Chick-fil-A's New Breakfast Items: An Early Review
Yesterday we were invited to a preview party at our local Chick-fil-A to taste the new items on CFA's appealing breakfast menu.
And, we gotta tell 'ya -- the party was great fun. And the new breakfast choices are bound to become instant favorites.
But you can't get these new breakfast treats everywhere -- not yet, anyway.
Still, CFA is testing them in the greater Philadelphia area (and other select markets) right now. The CFA participating stores will report back to corporate on customers' reactions to these items.
Here's what's being offered at the Chick-fil-A Cherry Hill NJ location in the Garden State Park Town Center on Route 70:
Sausage, egg and cheese English muffin.
Bacon, egg and cheese bagel.
Cinnamon biscuit roll.
Chick-fil-A maple waffle.
Our favorite of the four was the maple waffle. It was amazing. It's fluffy and yet just crisp enough. It's also surprisingly light. And here's the great thing about it: The maple syrup taste is built into the waffle so the waffle's not messy or sticky. This is a solid winner!
We also liked the sausage, egg and cheese English muffin. The cinnamon biscuit roll is seen as a logical replacement for CFA's current cinnamon cluster. Flakey like a biscuit but also sweet and tasty.
It's difficult to perfect the bagel but CFA is working on it. And this bacon, egg and cheese bagel is better than the whole or multi-grain bagels offered at some other fast food outlets.
Chick-fil-A is a treasure -- a great American company delivering quality and value with outstanding service in a clean, bright, inviting, family-friendly atmosphere.
They got our vote!

The Original Delight!
Nothing is quite like the original Chick-Fil-A sandwhich. Nothing is quite so perfect, quite so satisfying.A friend writes of his love for Chick-Fil-A and a recent experience:
I felt like Chick-Fil-A today, I really did. But the Chick-Fil-A across the street from us is still an empty shell advertising "help wanted," so I opted instead for the closer, operational option -- McDonald's.
What is being prominently displayed on the McDonald's menu? The Southern Style Chicken sandwich -- a lone, seasoned chicken patty accompanied only by two pickles peaking ever-so-slightly from the plain, seedless bun. Its model was very immediately apparent, but I had to ask to be sure. The manager replied more directly than I would have expected: "Have you ever had Chick-Fil-A?"
I ordered two.
For research purposes, of course.
While tasty, the sandwiches felt altogether ... hmmm ... off. It's like trying to make your own Beef with Broccoli: the ingredients may all be there ... you may prepare it exactly the same way ... but you'll never match the way your favorite chinese take-out place makes it. It just cannot be replicated.
And in a move that McD's may have seen as an improvement, McDonald's opted for its usual, premium-sandwich paper box. But there's magic in Chick-Fil-A's little foil bag. When taken out, the Chick-Fil-A may look like it has been sat on in a warm, poorly ventilated car for a few hours, but somehow, someway, that bag marinates and strengthens the whole sandwich. The first bite into any Chick-Fil-A sandwich is always almost overpowering ...
While the McD's chicken is a near-perfect rip-off (though the McD's version is more consistently shaped), the bun is noticeably softer. The pickles are sweeter ... too sweet ... and therefore complement the sandwich less. I watched the gentleman in the kitchen prepare my sandwich, and noticed that the placement of the pickles seemed deliberately careless, unlike the truly careless preparation at Chick-Fil-A.
As I finished my chicken sandwich, I felt a little ashamed. A little like I was cheating. I thought about driving to the nearest Chick-Fil-A 20 minutes away and redeeming myself with an original, but I didn't have the stomach for it -- literally and figuratively. There's always dinner, I guess.
