Not far from Calgary you'll encounter Canada's majestic stretch of the Rocky Mountains -- an area encompassing over 8,000 square miles and several national parks. This breathtakingly beautiful area (the whole thing) has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage site.
It's impossible to convey the awe-inspiring beauty of this area in a few photos. But, we post them here as just a tiny window into a feat of nature that is among the most inspiring we've ever seen. Enjoy these images of Emerald Lake and Lake Louise, both of which gain their iridescent color from sediments produced by the glaciers which created the lakes.
