Democrats admit they are “very serene” about keeping our Department of Homeland Security closed.
As travel is disrupted nationwide, wait times at our airports are hitting four hours, and our brave men and women of the TSA are being forced to work without pay. Democrats declare they are at peace with the hardships their political shutdown has created as our TSA agents’ livelihood has hung in the balance for 26 days.Holding TSA officers hostage for political purposes is irresponsible and dangerous— their work is critical to protecting our homeland and national security. Across the nation's airports, TSA officers are still protecting American passengers from bomb threats, drugs, concealed weapons, and other dangerous contraband items despite ZERO pay.
Last year alone:
- TSA detected nearly 11,500 dangerous or prohibited items.
- Confiscated 6,669 firearms.
- Seized 2,190 drugs or other contraband items.
- Removed 577 concealed knives, razor blades, and other concealed weapons.
- Fielded 313 bomb threats.
Democrats have disgustingly forced TSA employees to work without pay three times in six months, and now, fed-up agents are leaving the force in droves, with over 300 agents quitting in 3 weeks.
As Americans and TSA officers pay the price for Democrats’ sick political games, it’s time for the Democrats to fund DHS so TSA officers can be paid for their critical work protecting American travelers.
