Well, Another One Has Come And Gone . . .

We've always pretty much hated New Year's Eve and New Year's Day. But for a long time we couldn't figure out why.

Now, we finally get it: They're downright innocuous.
Here then, in no particular order are the Ten Big Reason why the New Year's "holiday" is dumb, dumb, dumb:

1) There is absolutely no significant historical or religious meaning to the day.

2) How many bowl games can you watch, anyway?

3) The day celebrates not the beginning of anything but rather the end -- the end of the joyous holiday season.

4) The Tournament of Roses Parade and other New Year's spectacles are all pretty much the same year-after-year.

5) You know it's true: Nobody keeps New Year's resolutions.

6) Celebrating the passing of time is like celebrating the inexorable march to your own death.

7) After Christmas, no other holiday on the immediate horizon can compete.

8) By January 1 you're completely stuffed and don't even wanna look at food. You're facing the grueling regimen of a diet.

9) All you have to look forward to are the two bleakest months of the year: January and February; and March ain't much better.

10) It'll take you weeks to get used to writing 2022 and you may still be thinking 2021 even in April.

And, BTW: New Year's Eve is the worst night to venture out. Restaurants offer special (largely uninteresting) menus with higher prices and venues attract scores of vulgarians who act like they've never been out. Stay home!

The bottom line: New Year's Day is just another day on the calendar.

Kenney, Krasner And Philly's Most Murders EVER!

In Philadelphia, 562 people were murdered in 2021, the most in the city's history. Yes, the most in the history of a city that's even older than the nation itself!

Murders in the city have jumped a whopping 53% since 2019 and 12% since 2020. And already in 2022 Philly is on track to surpass last year's record number of murders. In fact, in first three hours of 2022 police reported 14 people shot -- two of those people were killed, one just 16 years old!. Five women were shot among the 14 people hit by gunfire just after the New Year began in Philadelphia.

Look at Mayor Jim Kenney and DA Larry Krasner (above). These two insufferable crybabies have put into place policies that encourage (and actually seem to reward) crime while they set about bellyaching and blaming everyone but themselves for the city's unprecedented crime wave.

Shame on both of 'em -- and shame on the voters of Philadelphia for electing and re-electing these despicable, arrogant, dreary failures.

As We Move Into The New Year, God Bless Them!

Just Another Reason To LOVE The Italians!

God bless the Italians.
They despise rigidityy, conformity and subservience.
And they steadfastly refused to be governed. Hooray!
