NYC Public Library To Recognize Italian Americans

From the Order Sons and daughters of Italy in America (OSDIA):

The Commission for Social Justice (CSJ), the anti-defamation arm of the Order Sons and Daughters of Italy in America (OSDIA) is pleased to announce that in October 2026, the New York Public Library (NYPL) will display official OSDIA Italian American Heritage Month materials.

This development follows claims from OSDIA members in late 2025 that the NYPL was refusing to display Italian American Heritage Month materials from OSDIA due to its support for Columbus Day.

Following this claim, CSJ President John A. Fratta wrote a letter to the New York Public Library on November 7, 2025 to condemn this decision and to implore the institution to display materials from OSDIA the following October.

“Thanks to the tireless efforts of Councilman David Carr, this issue has been successfully addressed,” said Fratta. “Carr engaged in numerous discussions with the CEO of the NYPL system, Dr. Anthony W. Marx, and remained steadfast in advocating for our community.”

In appreciation of Councilman Carr’s successful efforts to allow OSDIA Italian Heritage Month materials to be displayed at local library branches throughout New York City, Fratta will present a certificate to him in the coming weeks.

“On behalf of this organization, I would like to sincerely thank Councilman Carr for his commitment, persistence, and leadership in correcting this, and ensuring fair representation of Italian American heritage,” said Fratta.

Diane Allen Endorses Zdan, Cullen

One of South Jersey’s most respected Republican leaders, former State Senator Diane Allen, has officially endorsed Jason Cullen for Congress and Alex Zdan for U.S. Senate.

Sen. Diane Allen, represented the 7th Legislative District for more than 20 years and was the Republican nominee for Lieutenant Governor in 2021. Before entering politics, Allen had a distinguished career as a television journalist and news anchor.

“Jason Cullen understands the daily challenges facing working families because he works with small businesses every day. He’s not a career politician—he’s a change agent who will bring common-sense solutions to Washington. Jason will fight to reduce the cost of living and protect our communities. I have full confidence he will be an outstanding representative for the 3rd District.”

“Alex Zdan is an award-winning journalist and passionate advocate for New Jersey. His experience going toe-to-toe with Cory Booker as a news anchor and his commitment to holding our leaders accountable make him uniquely qualified to represent New Jersey. Alex has the courage and conviction needed to deliver real results for our state.”

Senator Allen added: “I urge all Republicans to support these outstanding candidates in the June 2nd primary. When you go to the polls, be sure to vote for our Burlington County Slate and write-in Dale McPeak for County Surrogate.”

Allen is widely respected for her advocacy on education, equal rights, and ethics reform. Her backing highlights the broad coalition of support Zdan and Cullen are building across South Jersey.

NJ Dems Turned Their Backs On Law Enforcement

Stand with Law Enforcement. Stand with Common Sense.

To all New Jerseyans:

This Memorial Day weekend, Americans across the country paused to honor the brave men and women who gave their lives defending our nation and our freedoms.

But in New Jersey, Mikie Sherrill and other Democrat elected officials made anti-ICE protests in Newark their priority instead.

As chaos erupted outside a federal detention facility, protesters clashed with federal agents and demanded the facility be shut down while Democrats rushed to stand with the activists instead of law enforcement.

It was a deeply shameful display.

The right to protest exists because brave Americans fought, bled, and died to defend it.

Memorial Day should be reserved for solemn remembrance of those heroes, NOT political grandstanding and attacks on the officers working to enforce our laws.

Yet this is exactly where today’s Democrat Party is taking New Jersey.

Instead of focusing on the issues impacting hardworking families — skyrocketing property taxes, crushing utility bills, overwhelmed school districts, and growing public safety concerns — Democrats continue embracing radical activists and far-left politics.

The NJGOP believes:

  • Law enforcement deserves our support
  • Immigration laws should be enforced
  • Safe communities should come first
  • And Memorial Day should be about honoring American heroes

The Democrats are already mobilizing for the fights ahead. We cannot afford to sit on the sidelines.

Stand with the NJGOP.

Usha Vance Visits Olympians, Paralympians

On Thursday, May 28, 2026, Second Lady Usha Vance visited the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado, to promote childhood literacy and her Summer Reading Challenge.

At Team USA’s world-class training venue, the Second Lady was joined by two-time Olympian and six-time World Champion wrestler and mom, Adeline Gray, in reading “If You Can Dream it, Be It” by Team USA Bobsled Pilot Riley Tejcek to a group of local students.

“What an honor it was to visit such an incredible space and meet the Team USA athletes who are representing our country so well. Team USA fosters excellence and inspires children to fulfill their potential – something I also hope to cultivate by encouraging childhood literacy,” said Second Lady Usha Vance.

“It was great to welcome the Second Lady and a group of local children for their first experience at the Olympic & Paralympic Training Center. As a mother myself, inspiring kids to be curious, dream big and develop a love for both sport and reading is incredibly important,” said Adeline Gray.

The Second Lady is an avid supporter of Team USA and traveled to Milan with Vice President JD Vance in February for the 2026 Olympic Winter Games.

As part of her efforts to combat summer learning loss among students, the Second Lady recently visited AcadeMir Academy Charter School West in Doral, Florida to read to students and collaborate with faculty.

Additionally, the Second Lady launched a new podcast called “Storytime with the Second Lady,” where celebrities and special guests read children’s stories. Recent guests include Paralympic medalist Brent Poppen, NASCAR driver Danica Patrick, actor Cheryl Hines, Inter Miami CF Soccer Player Ian Fray, and her mother, Dr. Lakshmi Chilukuri.

James Talarico In His Own Words

Here's what Texas Democrat Senate candidate James Talarico has actually said:

-He thinks God is “non-binary”
-Used the Bible to say the Virgin Mary would support abortion.
-Declared Jesus Christ was a “radical feminist”.
-Says atheists are “more Christ-like” than Christians.
-Called men in women's sports a "far right conspiracy."
-Thinks illegal aliens are “more Patriotic” than Americans.
-Believes there are six biological sexes.
-Posted guides on how to evade ICE.
-Called the border a “giant welcome mat”.
-Wants to abolish prisons.
-When asked what he thinks about besides family, he said “trans kids”.
H/T: Benny Johnson

A Special Message From Rev Franklin Graham

Texas Democratic Senate candidate James Talarico couldn't be more wrong! The Bible is not silent on abortion as he claims—that's an absolute lie. God commands us, "You shall not murder" (Exodus 20:13). Abortion is taking a life—it is murder. The Word of God tells us we are created in the image of God and consistently underscores the value of human life. Jeremiah 1:5 says, "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart..." In 2021, this same Democratic candidate opposed a bill to ban men from women's sports, saying that "God is non-binary." Don’t be deceived by wicked politicians spouting lies like this.

Washington Nationals Shun 'Very Catholic' Player?

CV-logo-slogan_1-14-25

Washington Nationals pitcher Trevor Williams is a faithful Catholic. On social media, he describes himself with the beautiful phrase “Servus Christi”— Servant of Christ.

According to a disturbing report, a senior Washington Nationals executive was caught on camera saying the team does not use Williams in certain social media content because of his Catholic faith and his public defense of Catholics against anti-Catholic mockery.

What was his crime to deserve this punishment? Williams stood up when the Los Angeles Dodgers chose to honor a group infamous for mocking Our Lord, Our Lady, the Eucharist, priests, and religious sisters. You know that because you probably were there, supporting CatholicVote when we decided to publicly confront and call out the Dodgers.

And now a Nationals executive has reportedly admitted that, because Williams is “very Catholic” and spoke out, “we don’t use him on social.”

If this is true, this is religious discrimination.

As Terry Schilling, President of American Principles Project, said on X, this is important because such things can happen anywhere: on sports teams, on school boards, and the boards of corporations nationwide.

CatholicVote is demanding answers and immediate action from Washington Nationals owner, Mark Lerner.

But I also want all of us to do something more; something unmistakably Catholic...

Let’s stand with Trevor Williams.

Amplify his voice by following him on social media:

On Instagram: @mellamotrevor

On X: @MeLlamoTrevor

Then leave him a strong message of solidarity and encouragement: You are not alone. Millions of Catholics are grateful for your courage. And we are praying for you.

This is how Catholics respond: We demand justice…and then we build something good.

The message to the Washington Nationals is clear: Catholics will not be quietly pushed out of public life.

Go forward bravely,

State Lawmakers Condemn Kim, Sherrill Actions

New Jersey State Assemblyman Gerry Scharfenberger and Assemblywoman Victoria Flynn (NJLD13) issued a strong condemnation of several state leaders participating in protests at the Delaney Hall ICE detention facility in Newark on Memorial Day, a solemn occasion dedicated to honoring the estimated 23,000 to 25,000 New Jersey residents who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to the United States.

The lawmakers expressed concern over escalating tensions at the facility and questioned the decision by elected officials to participate in a highly charged political demonstration on a day intended to remember fallen American servicemembers:

“New Jersey residents are watching scenes of disorder and confrontation that should concern every citizen who values public safety and lawful conduct,” said Assemblyman Scharfenberger. “There is a significant difference between peaceful protest and conduct that interferes with federal operations or places law enforcement officers in unsafe situations. Political leaders should be working to calm tensions, not fuel them.”

Assemblywoman Flynn said the timing and involvement of high-profile elected officials on Memorial Day sent the wrong message to the public:

“Memorial Day should be devoted to honoring the American heroes who sacrificed their lives for our freedoms,” Flynn said. “Instead, Governor Sherrill, Senator Kim, and others chose to insert themselves into a highly charged political demonstration surrounding a private detention facility that has existed for years under various operators and has faced scrutiny long before it housed ICE detainees.”

“This facility did not suddenly appear overnight,” Flynn continued. “Delaney Hall and similar private detention operations have been the subject of criticism and public concern for many years. It raises the obvious question of where many of these same elected officials were before the facility became a national political talking point tied to immigration enforcement.”

Scharfenberger and Flynn reaffirmed their support for peaceful and lawful expression while emphasizing that intimidation, obstruction, and disorder cannot be tolerated:

“We are still at a loss as to why anti-law enforcement rhetoric became the priority of these officials on such a solemn day,” the lawmakers added. “Security personnel and law enforcement officers perform difficult responsibilities under challenging circumstances. The rule of law must apply equally to everyone, regardless of politics or political connections.”

“The Governor and members of Congress possess significant authority and numerous avenues to pursue policy changes through legislation, oversight, executive action, and the courts,” the lawmakers continued. “There is no need to engage in public spectacles that appear designed more for press coverage and political theater than constructive solutions.”

On Live TV, Gutfeld Eviscerates Sherrill And Kim

Fox News host Greg Gutfeld launched a blistering attack on New Jersey Sen. Andy Kim and Gov. Mikie Sherrill after both Democrats appeared outside the Delaney Hall immigration detention facility during Memorial Day protests against ICE operations. Here's what Gutfeld said:

“So that’s how they spent their Memorial Day? … The message is clear. Illegal immigrants, no matter how criminal they are, take priority over dead soldiers. We would rather foment anti-American spectacles on Memorial Day. Do I care that Andy Kim got pepper-sprayed? No, I don’t care. You are doing this on Memorial Day, champ. You’re actually participating in something that undermines our country’s security.

You know, a veteran was murdered a few days ago. You didn’t give two turds about that. I don’t care about you. What Kim got was what he wanted. He wanted the attention off of Memorial Day and on him. But it’s not going to change the way we feel about him or anything else. Here’s the deal: this is all designed… All this that we know.

This and we’re not scared of it anymore. That’s the beauty of it. It doesn’t bother us. But it’s designed to create a visual spectacle, an obstacle that then pressures you into submission. Then when the spectacle happens, they go, ‘Look! Look what the policy is creating! Look at this chaos! Isn’t this awful?’

This went on in Minnesota. We can go through all that. But it’s the visual chaos that they claim is being caused by the deportation. No, it isn’t. The visual chaos is caused by them. It’s like if I throw a party and you bring a gun. You can’t blame me for my party leading to gun violence. You brought the violence there, you scum.

Kim Kries As Kooky Stunt Krumbles!

From a facebook friend:

Warning to every Congressman, Senator, or activist itching to "stand with protesters" at ICE facilities.

Yesterday outside Newark's Delaney Hall, Sen. Andy Kim (D-NJ) didn't just insert himself. He actively shielded rowdy, obstructionist demonstrators who were chaining themselves to exits, blocking federal vehicles, and turning a detention center into a riot zone. ICE agents did what they had to do. They deployed pepper spray to clear the dangerous blockade.
Kim caught a face-full of it while playing hero for the mob. Classic self-own.
But here's the idiot masterstroke. This so-called leader then let volunteers flood his eyes with water, spreading the oil-based capsaicin across even more skin and amplifying the burn over a wider area. He turned a standard 30-minute sting into pure, self-inflicted agony.
That's what happens when you choose the side of facility-targeting agitators over federal law enforcement. Kim wasn't de-escalating. He was aiding chaos. And he proved it by botching his own first aid like a rookie protester.
Congress, stay out of the way. Let agents do their jobs. Obstruct at your own risk.

What You Need To Know About Memorial Day

Think you know all about Memorial Day?

Think again!

It's Memorial Day weekend and we hope you're  having a great time.
This year Memorial Day is observed six days before the day's actual, traditional observance day, May 30.
This year, we hope that you take time to remember those who have protected us and who have made (and continue to make) our freedom possible. Because Memorial Day is all about those who gave their lives defending our country.  They made the ultimate sacrifice. In this way Memorial Day differentiates itself from Veterans Day which honors all veterans.

Now, let's get to the business at hand:

1) Not everyone will spend the long weekend at the Jersey shore, especially this year with the weather so uninviting. The media would have you believe that everyone is headed to the shore but that's just an easy way for the media to not report real stories over the weekend while at the same time nurturing the myth of the Great Shore Exodus. In fact, people enjoy the weekend in many different ways at many different places. We know we do -- and will.

2) Summer doesn't begin on Memorial Day. Summer begins on June 21, the summer solstice. And summer doesn't end on Labor Day. Summer ends on September 22 when autumn begins. The media and the travel industry concocted the idea that summer lasts from Memorial Day to Labor Day. It doesn't.

3) As we noted, Memorial Day is actually May 30. Congress changed the day around to make it a three-day weekend in another attempt to rob a fine holiday of its true meaning. So, Memorial Day is now the last Monday in May which means it can come as late as May 31 or as early as May 24. Leave it to the government to mess things up.

4) Memorial Day didn't become Memorial Day until 1966 when President Johnson officially renamed it. Prior to that it was widely known as Decoration Day - the day when Americans decorated the graves of the fallen. At it's core it's a somber day.

5) The artificial boundaries of Memorial Day and Labor Day mean absolutely nothing even though many people perceive these boundaries to coincide with the school year. Most children go to school well past Memorial Day. Many children (particularly in southern states) return to school well before Labor Day. Others return several days after Labor Day.

6) This year Memorial Day actually arrives close to the traditional date and Labor Day (the first Monday in September) is September 4. So, the stretch between the two is about average -- mixed news for vacation and travel vendors.

But, remember: Memorial Day isn't when people say it is. The summer hasn't begun - yet. It won't end on Labor Day. Many people will get through the whole summer without ever going to the Jersey shore. They will have a wonderful time nonetheless.

The Memorial Day and Labor Day boundaries are totally imaginary!

So, there you have it.
Enjoy what's left of spring.
And don't say "Happy Memorial Day" as the day is actually a solemn day set aside to remember and honor those who died defending our freedom. Pause. Reflect. Pay homage.
Then, go ahead and enjoy summer all the way through till September 22.
In fact, enjoy each day as a blessed gift. Savor every day, no matter the season.
Don't be cheated.

The Remarkable Story Of Jewish Resurrection

Excerpted from "The Iron Lady of The American Jewish Right" an extraordinary interview with Ruth Wisse in this wekend's Wall Street Journal:

Much of her extended family was murdered by the Germans, but “the investment in Holocaust education has been a huge mistake,” she says.

“We should remember it every day of our lives, and we do. We still mourn the Temples of Jerusalem.”

She sees the public Holocaust education effort, however, as a Jewish gesture to Christians: “Show them the crucifixion of the Jews, as if it could be redemptive for the rest of us.”

Even accepting the Christian framing, Ms. Wisse says, “we left out the resurrection. Not in three days, but in three years.”

From the end of the Holocaust in 1945 to Israel’s 1948 founding, “the Jewish nation resurrected itself— and that is a miracle.

“It’s not that the waters parted,” she says. “The Jews had to part them.” The Arabs had succeeded in choking off the Jewish escape from Europe to Palestine when it counted most, and then rejected the U.N. partition plan for a Jewish and an Arab state. After nearly 2,000 years of exile, the Jews had to fight off the invasion of five Arab armies to win independence.

“The resurrection of the Jews is the greatest story ever told,” Ms.

Wisse says, “and while our enemies were hard at work uglifying it, we told the story of the Holocaust.”

President Trump: 'IF I Make A Deal' . . .

A REMARKABLE Memorial Day Weekend Story!

The Very Latest On That Iran Deal . . .

A special report from Scott Jennings via X:

After receiving a briefing from a Senior TRUMP Administration Official [SAO] on the status of the Iran negotiations (someone in the know & not just speculating), I can tell you the following: -USA IS NOT GIVING IRANIANS MONEY FOR NOTHING. All speculation and propaganda to the contrary is false. Some hardline elements of Iran’s govt (IRGC) have pushed fake stories & propaganda to try to kill this negotiation. -Iran deal is NOT done (95%, but still haggling over some language). No deal being signed today. May be a few more days before this is done. -Iran will NOT get any money or sanctions relief up front. -Iran must turn over nuclear stockpile to get anything. USA position is that failure to meet deal commitments means Iran gets nothing. -Long term USA objective is preventing Iran from having nuclear weapon. -Initial deal point is to re-establish free flow of commerce by reopening Strait of Hormuz. Deal should have 2 phases: Step 1 - Open Strait of Hormuz. Give world economy breathing room. Iran agrees to give up enriched uranium. Step 2 - Get the nuclear material turned over. Only then can Iran get sanctions relief. Bottom line: goal is to make a deal that lowers costs for Americans, calms world energy markets, and guarantees that Iranians cannot have a nuclear weapon over the long term. We aren’t there yet. Iran takes forever to get you a response on even small things. But we are close although it still could be a few days. “If we get what we are demanding, this is going to be a historic deal,” SAO says. SAO sounds prepared to do no deal at all if all Iran will do is a “bad deal.” SAO admits deal could fall apart yet. But if a deal is reached, SAO expects very senior USA admin officials to take part in a signing ceremony of some sort. Iran has agreed in principle to the framework but there are still a couple points USA isn’t satisfied with. 95% done. But literally changing words sometimes requires days in Iran’s system. Haggling over language. But USA feels like we have a commitment on nuclear stockpile and on opening Strait of Hormuz. If IRAN doesn’t deliver on commitments, they get nothing. “Iran’s ability to project power is a lot more limited than it was two months ago,” SAO says. “Their industrial base for building ballistic missiles has been substantially destroyed.”

Memorial Day: Remember What It's All About!

A MAJOR Announcement From The President!

Camden County: Remembering The Good Gray Poet

The Peril Of Sherrill: Affordability? Say What?

Get this: Indiana’s Governor Mike Braun gave his state a gas tax holiday to relieve some of the pressure from rising gas prices. He cared about affordability and he's reviewing his stand in June to see what else he can do.

New Jersey's Governor, Mikie Sherrill talks affordability but does NOTHING. In fact, she even let a three cent gas tax hike go into effect and bragged that she had extra revenue, even though she pledged to freeze energy prices. Mike Braun in a Republican Mikie Sherrill is a Democrat

And that makes all the difference in the world. Indiana voters undertand this. They get it. New Jersey voters? DUH!
