Celebrity's Seduction And The Outing Of Fauci

Dr. Anthony Fauci has been outed.

Outed as a shameless glitterati wannabe. Outed as a relentless attention seeker. Outed as a star-crossed celebrity worshiper.

It would all be laughable if it wasn't so pathetic. After all, Fauci is not some preteen little girl at a Taylor Swift concert. He's an 85-year-old man, a supposedly renowned medical doctor and self-proclaimed scientist who vaulted himself into the highest reaches of power and notoriety during one of the darkest periods in our nation's history.

During that time, Fauci became enamored with himself -- seeing himself as the bright star, the luminous guiding light, the incandescent, all powerful Oz who would show us the way. But in truth, there was no one behind the curtain -- just a tiny gray haired man with beady eyes who was busy admiring himself in an endless hall of mirrors.

And it was in that hall of mirrors that Fauci lost his way, much as one would in a cheap, gaudy, touring carnival attraction.

At the congressional hearing the other day Fauci pleaded the Fifth. But before he did so, he complained about efforts to embarrass him with the release of his diary entries. But it was Fauci who embarrassed himself. Because it was Fauci who, in his haste to sing his own praises, foolishly tapped out those daily diary entries on a government computer. Imagine!

But no one should be surprised by all this. A friend of mine recently noted that there are countless Faucis everywhere -- forgotten bureaucrats, mid-level paper pushers, anonymous bean counters, faceless clerks, managers, mechanics and functionaries. They want to be Somebody. They want to sit at the Cool Kids Table.

Every so often, for one in a gazillion of 'em, lightening strikes. It happened to Little Tony Fauci, a kid from Brooklyn who worked in his father's pharmacy tending the cash register, stocking shelves, and delivering prescription medicines to neighbors on his blue Schwinn bicycle.

Somewhere within Anthony Fauci lived an insatiable desire to be recognized, to be validated. And soon enough he was recognized, and even honored and then revered. But it didn't ever seem to be enough. It must not have been glamorous enough, shiny enough or ego-fulfilling enough. And let's not forget that even a small dose of fame can be a dangerous thing.

So before long, Fauci was seeking more and more and more, gleefully cataloguing all his Big Time attention-grabbing moments, clutching his press clippings and fan mail like some Hollywood divo who kept everyone on the set waiting while he fussed and preened in his dressing room.

In his autobiography, published in 1868, Horace Greeley got it right: "Fame is a vapor, popularity an accident . . . Only one thing endures and that is character."

Pennacchio To Governor: Cooperate With Feds!

New Jersey State Senator Joe Pennacchio (R-Morris, Passaic) called on Governor Sherrill to fully cooperate with federal authorities to investigate New Jersey’s non-citizen voter registration scandal and support legislative efforts to ensure those responsible are held accountable.

On a recent episode of Ask Governor Sherrill, the governor dismissed calls for a bipartisan select committee with subpoena power as a witch hunt and again miscategorized the scandal as a software error. IDEMIA, the vendor responsible for the Motor Vehicle Commission’s software said that the automatic voter registration of non-citizens was a setting approved by New Jersey officials.

“This is a stunning revelation from IDEMIA that demands accountability from Murphy administration officials,” said Senator Pennacchio. “The Governor stated this situation requires answers, but those answers will not come from wasting taxpayer dollars, dismissing legitimate questions from lawmakers as a witch hunt, or obsessing over the President. New Jerseyans deserve to know the full scope of this administrative malpractice. Is the state-led investigation examining only the so-called software error or is it looking into broader concerns raised by IDEMIA, the 75,000 or more non-citizens reportedly summoned for jury duty every year, and the significant discrepancy between the state’s 6,600 figure and the Department of Homeland Security’s estimate of 35,000 non-citizens on our voter rolls? That is why I called on the U.S. Attorney to expand its investigation and ensure every possible avenue is being pursued. Taxpayers deserve an investigation that follows the facts wherever they lead, not one limited by partisan convenience.”

Last week, Senator Pennacchio called on Assistant U.S. Attorney Harmeet Dhillon to expand their investigation after it was reported that 75,000 non-citizens are summoned for jury duty each year in New Jersey.

During the episode, Governor Sherrill “snidely” dismissed concerns, as reported by Insider NJ, that more than 75,000 non-citizens are summoned for jury duty each year in New Jersey, noting that various state databases are used to compile the state's jury pool.

“The Governor offered to ‘educate’ me, but the facts already did. Here’s a refresher—the Administrative Office of the Courts confirmed that jury lists are compiled using records from the Division of Elections, MVC, and the Division of Taxation. The simple fact is that the same state systems contributed to multiple government functions, and this scandal proves those systems deserve scrutiny. Instead of lecturing lawmakers, the Governor should focus on providing answers.”

Trump To Thune And Senate: DO YOUR JOB!

And We Wouldn't Have It Any Other Way . . .

Why Moviegoers Naturally Crave Stars . . .

The great movie critic Pauline Kael explained it better than I ever could nearly 60 years ago, in 1968:

There’s hardly a star in American movies today, and if we’ve got so used to the absence of stars that we no longer think about it much, we’ve also lost one of the great pleasures of moviegoing: watching incandescent people up there, more intense and dazzling than people we ordinarily encounter in life, and far more charming than the extraordinary people we encounter, because the ones on the screen are objects of pure contemplation—like athletes all wound up in the stress of competition—and we don’t have to undergo the frenzy or the risks of being involved with them. In life, fantastically gifted people, people who are driven, can be too much to handle; they can be a pain. In plays, in opera, they’re divine, and on the screen, where they can be seen in their perfection, and where we’re even safer from them, they’re more divine.

On Nearly Every Front, Joizee Completely Tanks!

With stats like this and a complacent (to put it kindly) electorate that keeps electing scoundrels again and again, you have to wonder if there's any hope for Joizee at all -- especially if you've been here as long as we have and you've witnessed mostly year after year of this.

This much we can promise you -- we will not peddle false hope here. We tell it like it is. And, quite frankly, folks -- we've almost never seen it grimmer. The saddest part? Few seem to genuinely give a damn.

And Now More Disgraceful News From New Jersey!

Sherrill's Menu? Lies, Lies, Lies And More Lies!

NJ Governor Mikie Sherrill serves up mendacity.

❌ Said she froze electric bills. She didn't. ❌ Touts $25 electric credit. Was $100. ❌ Claims she's protecting Medicaid. Cut $260M from it. ❌ Says no new taxes. Tolls up. Fares up. And she cut NJ property tax relief funds. ❌ Blamed vendor for voter rolls showing nearly 7,000 noncitizens were registered to vote. Vendor says state had the data all along.

Former Sanders Buddy: Bernie Backs Jew Haters

Fox News reports as follows:

A former Bernie Sanders campaign official feels the progressive icon has helped promote some of the most "antisemitic candidates that we've seen in a generation" as democratic socialists continue to upend the party establishment.
“I think what Sanders and the Sanders operation have done is shove into our system the most categorically anti-Israel, antisemitic candidates that we’ve seen in a generation — if ever, certainly within the Democratic Party — and it’s by design,” Joel Rubin told Jewish Insider last week. “It’s not by accident, and it’s very disruptive intentionally. The goal is to undermine Democratic unity and even rationality on Israel at this stage.”
Rubin is an ex-State Department official who led Jewish outreach for Sanders' 2020 presidential campaign, when he finished runner-up to eventual nominee Joe Biden.
Rubin said Sanders had become a "hostile actor" and he was disappointed in him.

A Wake Up Call In NJ? Don't Bet On It!

So, The Governor of New Jersey has now admitted that nearly 7,000 non-citizens were registered to vote in the state through the MotorVoter program which allows people to register to vote when they get a driver's license. And, of course, New Jersey permits illegal aliens to obtain driver's licenses.

And, at least hundreds of these illegals have apparently already voted.

On top of that, the US Department of Homeland Security says that more than 35,000 non-citizens registered to vote in New Jersey and these are just the ones they know about. Imagine! All this while the State of New Jersey spent years telling us that the voting rolls were totally legit, devoid of any irregularities and squeaky clean.

Now, you'd have to agree that even one illegal vote is one too many and that it disenfranchises a legal vote -- a vote from some weary, overwhelmed New Jersey taxpayer (and there are legions of us) who plays by the rules.

New Jersey Republicans (such as they are) are justifiably outraged and are rightly demanding that the MotorVoter program be suspended if not downright sunsetted. And they are also insisting upon a complete and thorough independent audit and investigation. Good for them -- and they should not let up on this.

But, will any of this actually happen?

I doubt it.

Why?

First, because Republicans currently are a very distinct minority in the state -- as small a contingent as I could ever remember. They don't control any branch of government, and it's not even close.

Second (and correspondingly) Democrats predominate and routinely display the unbridled arrogance of power. They seemingly feel accountable to no one. They willingly ram through whatever budgets, taxes, regulations or onerous pieces of legislation they have in mind. And, they're enabled and encouraged by a brazenly partisan governor who has hallucinatory national political aspirations.

Third, there is no objective statewide media to speak of in New Jersey. Whatever pitiful collection of media, academia, and popular culture that exists in the state is relentlessly left-leaning. So forget about a fair accounting, let alone the truth.

Fourth, New Jersey's veritable one-party stranglehold has bred an inbred culture of corruption with endless tentacles and very deep roots. Case in point: in my lifetime, two United States senators from New Jersey have gone to jail. In fact, in the last half century, over 150 elected and appointed New Jersey public officials (the vast majority of them Democrats) have been convicted of or pleaded guilty to corruption and sentenced to prison terms.

Finally, the voters of New Jersey have apparently resigned themselves to this pattern of corruption, mismanagement, duplicity, mendacity and condescension. In fact, by all accounts they at least tacitly approve of it since they continue to elect Democrats and have even elected and re-elected the Democrat son of the one of the most disgraced and corrupt US Senators in history. Mind you, this is the norm in New Jersey, not the exception! This kind of thing has happened again and again.

Back to the latest imbroglio.

Will anything really be done about it? Will there be an investigation? An audit? An independent accounting? I certainly hope so. And I'll never say never.

But I'm not betting on it.

Sadly, I'm not sure all of this is even on the radar of the typical New Jersey voter and, in the end, it will ultimately be up to the voters to compel positive action. How I wish I could say otherwise but I have to give it to you straight, folks.

What a sorry, sorry mess!

Am 'Evil Antisemite' Who Deliberately Lies

From Ambassador Mike Huckabee:
Would be easy to say NY Mayor is just an ignorant bigot, but he is not dumb. He's an evil anti-Semite who deliberately lies about serious things like "genocide" to stoke Jew hate. If anyone should be arrested, it's the Mayor of NY for incitement. NYC should be ashamed.

And Now, A Truly Remarkable Young Talent!

It's Time Somebody Said This . . .

NJ Senate GOP Leader: Suspend MotoVote Program

New Jersey State Senate Republican Leader Anthony M. Bucco (R-Morris, Passaic) released the following statement regarding today’s announcement by Governor Sherrill that approximately 6,600 non-citizens were registered to vote and approximately 400 non-citizens voted.

The news that approximately 6,600 non-citizens were identified on New Jersey's voter rolls following a Motor Vehicle Commission (MVC) software error raises serious concerns that demand a transparent and independent investigation. The fact that New Jersey has been allowing undocumented immigrants to obtain a driver’s license since 2020 requires the investigation be extended at least from the onset of this law, if not longer.

This situation underscores the consequences of policy decisions that Republicans warned about from the beginning. Over six years ago, Trenton Democrats chose to allow undocumented immigrants to obtain driver's licenses despite our opposition, and they placed voter registration in the hands of the MVC—an agency with a long history of administrative failures.

While New Jersey's elections include safeguards, errors like this undermine public confidence and provide those who seek to cast doubt on our election system with more ammunition. That is why it is essential that we determine exactly how this happened, and what steps are being taken to ensure it cannot happen again.

At the very least, New Jersey should immediately suspend its automatic voter registration program until the investigation is complete and state officials publicly announce their findings, corrective actions, and next steps. It is also time for New Jersey to enact a voter identification requirement. Polling has consistently shown that voter ID enjoys broad bipartisan support because it is a commonsense measure that can strengthen confidence in our elections while protecting the integrity of the voting process.

"We will await the results of the investigation, but New Jersey residents deserve assurance that our voter registration system is accurate, secure, and worthy of their trust."

Yet Another Iconic Employer Leaves New Jersey

From the Garden State Initiative:

New Jersey just lost another iconic employer.

After 86 years in Newark—the birthplace of M&Ms—Mars Wrigley is relocating its headquarters to Chicago.
The move will result in 307 layoffs, bringing the total number of jobs impacted by WARN notices in New Jersey this year to nearly 9,700, according to NJBIA. It follows recent announcements from companies including Samsung Electronics and ExxonMobil.
The trend is hard to ignore. Last week, CNBC ranked New Jersey 50th in the nation for business friendliness.
New Jersey cannot afford to keep losing employers, jobs, and investment. It's time for leaders in Trenton to focus on policies that encourage businesses to grow, invest, and create jobs—not give them reasons to leave.

State Senator: Suspend NJ MotoVoter Reg NOW!

New Jersey State Senator Declan O’Scanlon (R-Monmouth) is calling on the Sherrill Administration to suspend voter registrations at the NJMVC and for investigators to look beyond 2023 to check the last ten years of registrations after more than 6,000 non-citizens were automatically registered to vote when applying for a driver’s license in 2023 and 2024.

New Jersey Globe reported that hundreds of these non-citizens voted in elections.

“Despite assurances from the Murphy Administration and Trenton Democrats that this could never happen, it happened, and it’s worse than anyone expected. If we know that more than 6,000 non-citizens were improperly registered to vote over two years, why on earth would we stop the investigation there? This system has been in place for years. We should be reviewing every registration processed through the MVC over the last decade. If the system was broken in 2023 and 2024, New Jerseyans deserve to know whether it was broken in any other year up until present day. Until that thorough investigation is complete, the MVC should suspend all voter registrations.

“It is a shocking and outrageous revelation that it’s not only possible, but actually happened, that our Motor Vehicle Commission software AUTOMATICALLY registered people to vote who are constitutionally ineligible to register or vote! Republicans have raised concerns about the MVC systems for years. Each time we were reassured that this ‘could never happen.’  Ooops!

“What’s equally troubling is that these are only the cases where non-citizens correctly indicated that they were not citizens and were still registered anyway. That should alarm everyone. If the system failed when applicants answered honestly, what safeguards exist to prevent non-citizens from mistakenly checking the wrong box or knowingly claiming citizenship and being registered to vote.

“And let’s discuss the victims here, other than in the integrity of our voter rolls. Those folks who were automatically registered, many of them not aware of the laws and rules of our system, received sample ballots….inviting them to vote and to commit a federal crime! Essentially the government telling them they are eligible. The ramifications are mind boggling.

“When Trenton Democrats made it law for non-citizens to obtain driver’s licenses, Republicans warned that this very problem could occur. There is no better time than now to enact voter identification requirements to provide one more layer of protection to ensure only eligible voters are casting ballots.”

We Won't Forget This Anytime Soon!

'One Of The Darkest Days In NJ Election History'

From NJ State Assemblyman Paul Kanitra:

Today, Governor Sherrill admitted knowing about illegals registered to vote “due to a software error” and only divulged it when caught red handed by the Department of Homeland Security. One of the darkest days in this state’s election history whether the initial failures happened during her tenure or not.

This totally ruins any credibility as she tries to minimize the size and scope of the massive failure. At this point, public trust is completely broken and the only option is to let the federal government see the voter rolls so they can determine just how deep this goes. I will, however congratulate the Governor on her inspiring commitment to still try and take a swipe at President Trump during one of this state’s biggest embarrassments. Only she could trash the President for having “zero credibility” while she is literally admitting to major election integrity issues!

Just In Case You Were Wondering . . .

THIS Is Why We Need The Save America Act!

Democrat New Jersey Gov. Mikie Sherrill admitted today that a “software glitch” registered approximately 6,600 noncitizens to vote in her state between 2023 and 2024 — and hundreds of them actually cast ballots.

This is the direct result of Democrat policies that refuse basic citizenship checks — and exactly why Congress must pass the SAVE America Act immediately. The bill requires states to use the Department of Homeland Security’s SAVE system to confirm citizenship before registering anyone to vote in federal elections, a safeguard New Jersey has refused to implement.

The legislation also mandates voter ID for federal elections, a reform supported by the overwhelming majority of Americans, among other popular initiatives.

Every illegal ballot dilutes the voice of a lawful American citizen and undermines election integrity. These incidents are not random errors; they are the predictable result of Democrat policies that refuse to verify citizenship.

The American people demand secure elections. Congress must pass the SAVE America Act without delay.

Her Marketing Strategy: A Pack Of False Claims!

From NJ Assembly GOP:

Governor Mikie Sherrills claims are getting more detached from reality by the day.
She says she froze electric bills. She didn't.
She touts a $25 electric bill credit without mentioning she cut it from $100 just weeks ago.
She claims she's protecting New Jersey from federal SNAP and Medicaid changes, while her own budget cuts $260 million in state Medicaid funding despite roughly $1 billion more in federal support.
She says there are "no new taxes" on individuals, even as New Jerseyans face automatic toll hikes, automatic NJ Transit fare increases and higher income tax collections driven by inflation.
At some point, it's just marketing

Is There No End To This Madness?

We're Not Fans, But He's On Target Here!

Yo, New Jersey: How's It Goin' -- Huh?

We Could Use This Cherished Sentiment Right Now!

POLIATRICS? Here's What It's All About . . .

Call it poliatrics.

It's at the intersection of politics and theatrics. And if you think it doesn't exist, you haven't been paying attention. In fact, highly theatrical moments have helped to define the major political figures of this country and theatrics have played a huge role in American politics and the presidency for more than a century.

Let's review some of the major rules of the show business and see how they apply:

1) Hype The Big Event. No performance can succeed without a hype -- even presidential inaugurals and political conventions. And part of the hype is keeping the audience guessing. After all, a certain shroud of mystery does wonders for heightening expectation. In 1964, President Lyndon Johnson needed to build anticipation for what would otherwise be a pro forma Democrat National Convention in Atlantic City. So, he staged an elaborate guessing game surrounding his vice presidential pick and kept everyone waiting until the last possible moment (even setting up decoys) before bringing on Hubert Humphrey.

2) Make a Grand Entrance. Really Big Stars don't just walk onto a stage or a movie set, they make an Entrance. One of the first things Ronald Reagan learned when he was under contract to Warner Brothers was how to throw back his shoulders, lift his head high, rise up and stride forward purposefully. Of course it helped that he was also one of the first actors to wear contact lenses and his outfits were perfectly tailored from that day forward. Small wonder that defining what it meant to look and act presidential later came natural to this guy!

3) Give 'Em What They Came For. Can Springsteen appear without singing Glory Days? Fat chance! Ya gotta give the audience what they want. So Obama never gave a stump speech without Hope and Change. And when Trump's rally rhetoric reaches its climactic moment, you can guarantee it will build to that familiar litany ending with Make America Great Again. Feed 'em the vittles they crave!

4) Be Bigger Than Life. The big screen was invented for  bigger than life stars and stories. 125 years ago, Teddy Roosevelt ushered in an epic American era in part by establishing such a formidable stage presence that it was impossible to ignore him. He was vivid, daring, surprising, brash and (at the dawn of the motion picture era) visually intuitive. Hugely consequential, he helped to define not only the modern presidency but the 20th century itself. By sheer force of will he seemed to thrust America onto the world stage once and for all. And America and the presidency haven't been the same since.

5) Perfect The Comeback. In show business a setback is nothing more than a setup for a comeback. And nobody understood this better than Richard Nixon who, after losing the presidency in one of the closest races ever in 1960, came back to win the office in 1968. Ditto Donald Trump, who did it back-to-back in 2020 and 2024, becoming only the second president ever to serve two non-consecutive terms. And, how about the redoubtable Comeback Kid himself, Bill Clinton who bounced back after losing the governorship of Arkansas and rose from the ashes again during the 1992 Democrat presidential primaries. Yowza!

6) Always Leave 'Em Begging For More. AKA get the hell to get off the stage before they give you the hook. AKA don't overstay your welcome. Here's the deal: Ya gotta leave while the audience still loves you, while they're still crazy about you, before you're past your due date. Vain as they are, few (if any!) politicians have learned when and how to make a graceful exit. And here, they're mostly all notable for failing. Pelosi and Schumer immediately come to mind. But the penultimate (and most embarrassing) example remains Joe Biden. Two words: rotten tomatoes!

So now you know why they call politics "show business for ugly people." That's all folks!
