California Pizza Kitchen: Here's Why We Love It

We always have a good meal -- and a good time --  at California Pizza Kitchen (CPK).
Here's why: The food is great; the atmosphere is appealing; the service is friendly and efficient. The whole experience is satiating and soothing.
We stopped by CPK in Cherry Hill for lunch today and enjoyed sandwiches, soup and salad.
CPK's apple walnut chicken salad sandwich on onion foccacia-style bread is uniquely satisfying.
Their split pea with barley soup is great year-round.
And their house salad is imaginative and plateful.
Pizzas at CPK come in wide variety of flavors and style. They're all cooked to order. We really like the thin crust pizzas.
And the pasta dishes always exceed expectations. We particularly like the spaghetti bolognese and the baby clam spaghettini. But it's all good.
Today, at the CPK in Cherry Hill we chatted with assistant general manager John Toppi. John and his fine staff go all out to please their customers.
Almost immediately after the first location opened in Beverly Hills in 1985, CPK was a huge success and over the years CPK has expanded from California to more than 250 locations in more than 30 states and 11 countries.
When you visit you'll realize why CPK has so many loyal followers who keep returning to the restaurant again and again.
