Rodney King Reportedly Found Dead In Pool

News reports say that Rodney King has been found dead.

King, whose videotaped 1991 beating by Los Angeles police officers led to riots became famous for the phrase (his quote, really) "Can't we all get along?"

Reports say King was found dead in a swimming pool this morning. This is what sources told TMZ. He was 47.

King's representative, Suzanne Wickman, confirmed to KABC-TV that King's fiancee found him dead at his home.

You may recall that on March 3, 1991, King was beaten by Los Angeles Police Department officers after a high-speed car chase, the incident caught on videotape by a bystander and broadcast around the world.

Four officers were tried for the assault but were acquitted.  That decision set off the 1992 Los Angeles riots.

There seemed to be no end to the King affair Two of the officers were later found guilty of civil rights violations in a federal court and jailed. But the other two officers were again acquitted.
