We all know that George Soros is a very dangerous man.
This zillionaire has funneled more than $7 BILLION to left-wing groups and causes. But in addition to the huge sums of money he donates to the left, Human Events magazine has spelled it out for us in detail -- giving us nine more specific reasons why Soros should be feared by anyone who loves liberty. Here they are:
1. His $$$ influence on US elections.
2. His work to curtail US sovereignty.
3. His backing of  front group, Media Matters.
4. His funding of MoveOn.org.
5. His support of the Center for American Progress.
6. His encouragement of environmental extremism.
7. His funding of America Coming Together.
8. His efforts at currency manipulation.
9. His delusional view of himself.

Bill Maher Is a Pathetic Figure

Wise guy Bill Maher has become a viciously partisan, nasty, pathetic figure.
His jabs at his perceived enemies merely reflect his own sorry state.
Here's an excerpt from NewsBusters:

Undeterred by criticism that his recent attacks on Sarah Palin and Michele Bachmann have gone over the line of comedic decency even for him, HBO's Bill Maher continued his sexist assault on two of the leading conservative female politicians Friday. 

As part of a joke mocking Donald Trump's recent lapse into birtherism, the "Real Time" host displayed mock birth certificates of Palin showing that she was born "Healthy, alert and pregnant" while Bachmann's read “Stupid, even for a baby”

Mind you, this recent criticism is actually mild for the garbage-mouthed Maher.
His names for Palin and Michelle Bachmann have included words I dare not repeat here. But I will tell you this: One of the words rhymes with "punt."

Rutgers Pays Trashy Snooki $32,000 To Lecture

I hate to have to write about Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi.
She's loud. She's foul-mouthed. She's dumb. She's trashy.
So, she belongs on a university campus as a key speaker, right?
Apparently New Jersey's Rutgers University seems to think so.
Because the university's Programming Association paid the "Jersey Shore" star to talk about her hairstyle, fist pumps, and the Jersey Shore lifestyle (Including "gym, tanning, laundry") on Thursday.
Money for Polizzi's appearance came out of the mandatory student activity fee.
And, get this: Rutgers actually paid this dumb broad more than they paid a much more prominent speaker --  Nobel Prize-winning novelist Toni Morrison.
This is a disgrace.
Rutgers is the state university and the state ought to look into this. It's wrong.

Cherry Hill Mayor Bernie Platt's Proud Legacy

Cherry Hill Mayor Bernie Platt called me earlier today to tell me that he would not seek re-election this year.
As he enters his last year of public service, the mayor is also thanking everyone who has supported him over the years
By now, the news about Bernie's decision is on the Courier-Post web site and other web sites and probably on the air as well.
But here's a story you may not know: Even though many conjectured that this might be Bernie's last term, the mayor was fully prepared to run again. His love for the town is such that he would probably like nothing more than to continue to serve.
 Service defines this man. And be sure of this: Bernie Platt's service to Cherry Hill was -- and remains -- a labor of love.
His interest in the town, its people and its well-being transcends party politics, personalities, power plays and petty grievances. There was not a time when residences went to him with a concern that he was not available or that he did not try to help.
Bernie is very real. He's a sentimental man -- a man who's comfortable with his own feelings and sentiments.
And his love for Cherry Hill is exceeded only by his love for his family.
So, he has chosen not to make another run so that he can spend more time with his family.
That's fine. Because, Bernie Platt can be very proud of what he's accomplished.
Look at Bernie's record of service: He served for many years on the town council and was mayor from 1979 to 1980, and deputy mayor from 1976 to 1979. He was a Camden County freeholder from 1996 to 1998 and since 2004, he's served as Mayor.
If you want to know what this man's legacy is, just look at the renaissance on the west side of town -- Cherry Hill's gateway. The Garden State Park and Cherry Hill Mall areas have witnessed more than a quarter of a billion dollars in private investment during Bernie's time in office -- and much of this occurred during a so-called economic "downturn." It's astounding.
With Bernie's guidance, Cherry Hill has reinvented itself.
And this is just one aspect of his legacy of service.
Bernie can take pride in the fact that his beloved hometown remains the economic center of South Jersey -- a great place to live, work and enjoy life.
I've known Bernie since he first served in public office. He never deceived me. He kept his word. He cared deeply, worked tirelessly and accomplished greatly while retaining his own sense of dignity and modesty.  That's rare -- and refreshing!
What more could anyone ask of a public figure?

Romney Inching Closer To Presidential Run

Day by day, Mitt Romney is inching closer to a presidential run in 2012.
Now, remember: Romney has built up plenty of IOU's in the Republican Party.
He's traveled the nation again and again supporting GOP candidates -- not the least of which was then-candidate (now Governor) Chris Christie here in New Jersey.
And Romney's Free and Strong America PAC has contributed plenty to Republican candidates.
On top of all that, Mitt Romney has the name recognition that makes him an instant contender for the presidency. Plus, he can raise the kind of money that will be needed to defeat President Obama -- a man who's aiming to raise ONE BILLION DOLLARS for his campaign.
Anyway, here's an excerpt from Politico about Romney's next moves:

A top Mitt Romney official told supporters on a conference call Thursday that the former Massachusetts governor is eyeing mid-to-late April to begin raising money for his eventual presidential campaign, according to call participants
Spencer Zwick, Romney's chief liaison to the fundraising community, informed the group of donors and outside advisers that the governor won't launch a full-fledged campaign by the end of next month but would file the paperwork necessary with the FEC that will allow them to begin bringing in the cash needed to post a big number for the second quarter.
As the nearest thing the GOP has to a front-runner, Romney would like to push back the start of the full-blown presidential campaign for as long as possible, but he also must begin putting a more formalized fundraising infrastructure in place.

Mother Teresa was an Albanian Roman Catholic nun who founded the Missionaries of Charity in Kolkata (Calcutta), India in 1950. For over forty years she ministered to the poor, sick, orphaned, and dying, while guiding the Missionaries of Charity's expansion, first throughout India and then in other countries.
By the 1970s she had become internationally famed as a humanitarian and advocate for the poor and helpless, due in part to a documentary, and book, Something Beautiful for God by Malcolm Muggeridge. 
She won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1979 for her humanitarian work. Mother Teresa's Missionaries of Charity continued to expand, and at the time of her death it was operating 610 missions in 123 countries, including hospices and homes for people with HIV/AIDS, leprosy and tuberculosis, soup kitchens, children's and family counseling programs, orphanages, and schools.
Following her death she was beatified by Pope John Paul II and given the title Blessed Teresa of Calcutta.
