What are the top 20 Christmas movies ever?
Well, I'd put that nostalgic Barbara Stanwyck classic Christmas In Connecticut on my list. And I'd also include a number of other old black-and-white movies from Hollywood's golden age.
One thing's for sure: The legendary Hollywood studios and the movie moguls of yesteryear knew how to do Christmas. And they did it up right.
But Entertainment Weekly decided to rank the Top 20 Christmas movies of all time and they also included some that actually originated on TV. Anyway, here (from number 20 to Number One) is the list they came up with:

Christie Welcomes $10 Million Recovery Grant
New Jersey Governor Chris Christie today issued the following statement welcoming $10 million in additional quick release emergency relief funds for New Jersey approved today by US Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood:
"The additional federal transportation funding is welcome and warranted, and I want to personally thank Secretary LaHood and the Obama Administration for continuing to work together with us to get New Jersey what we need to recover and rebuild. This funding is another recognition and acknowledgement of the extent of damage inflicted by Hurricane Sandy and the uphill climb to recovery we still face. Moreover, it’s a statement of the critical importance of New Jersey's transportation system, not just to our state but also the region, and the need to restore our infrastructure as quickly as possible. That is a message we will continue to press in concert with our partners in the region, Congress, and the federal government as we seek the appropriate level of disaster funding for New Jersey and its residents."
Quick release emergency funds are provided by the U.S. Department of Transportation's Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and may be used for immediate and emergent repairs to roads, bridges and tunnels that are critical to complete. The $10 million for New Jersey brings the state's total to $20 million in quick release funds, providing key additional resources to repair infrastructure and prepare the shore for next year’s tourism season – an economic essential for the region.

Video: Hot Gal Hooping In Saucy 'Firehouse Burlesque'
The Los Angeles Times is out with a story about an LAFD controversy involving a "firehouse burlesque." Here's an excerpt:
A Los Angeles Fire Department station embroiled in a porn video controversy last year has surfaced in another video showing a woman in shorts and high heels dancing inside the firehouse with a hula hoop and donning firefighter gear.
The video, titled "Firehouse Burlesque Hula Hooping," was shot at Fire Station 63 in Venice and published last week on YouTube by Hoopnotica, a Venice-based company that promotes using hula hoops for physical fitness.

Christmas Tree: That's What It Is, Call It That!
It's called a Christmas tree.Please don't call it a holiday tree or a seasonal tree or a family tree or whatever.
And remember that the best Christmas trees reflect the caring attention of those who lovingly decorated them. So, every Christmas tree should be unique and should express something about its owner or owners -- their lives, experiences, hopes and dreams. Since none of us are perfect our tress needn't be perfect either.
In fact, a tree that is too perfect - too symmetrical, too new, too staged - somehow doesn't look quite right.
A Christmas tree needs to exhibit some character; something that gives it its own special identity.

So, do take some time decorating it -- even if it takes several days to finish the job.
But don't worry if the garland doesn't loop quite right or if a few of the ornaments seem scruffy or if the lights don't seem perfectly even.
