Why No Clergy On Murphy's 'NJ Restart' Commission, Huh?
The members of the Governor’s Restart and Recovery Commission were announced last week, and Senator Joe Pennacchio called the absence of a clergy representative a “glaring omission.”

“In times of crisis, residents turn to their faith for strength and comfort,” said Pennacchio. “There is growing pressure on the Administration to lift the prohibition on worship service gatherings. There should have been room on the commission for a representative from the clergy to ensure Constitutionally protected religious rights are upheld.”
The 21-member commission, created by executive order, will hold virtual meetings and advise Governor Murphy on the reopening of nonessential businesses and the easing of stay-at-home orders.
“With the cooperation and sacrifice of residents across the state, we are making progress in containing the virus,” noted Senator Pennacchio. “The effort has taken a tremendous toll on residents, financially, emotionally and spiritually. As we approach another weekend where New Jersey citizens are denied their right to practice their faith, we question why no efforts have been made to allow citizens to reestablish their constitutional, God-given rights. The lack of clergy on the commission reinforces this disappointment. The Governor must pursue all options to safely allow the return to work and business, as well as the opening all places of worship.”

Let's Put Inactive NJ State Workers Back To Work!
With business closed across the state and families struggling to get by financially, Senator Michael Doherty proposed a solution to help all of the nearly one million out-of-work New Jerseyans to receive the unemployment benefits they deserve. He called for inactive State government workers to be reassigned to the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development (NJDOL) to help process a massive backlog of unemployment claims.

“Many State government workers are sitting at home and getting paid at taxpayer expense while they are unable to do their regular jobs due to the pandemic,” said Doherty (R-23). “Let’s put those idle State workers to use at the currently understaffed and overwhelmed New Jersey Labor Department. With a quarter-of-a-million residents still waiting for their claims to be processed, we need to step up and do all we can to help their families keep food on the table and a roof over their heads.”
In California, more than 1,300 California state employees have switched jobs to process unemployment claims.
More than 250,000 residents from New Jersey are still waiting for a response from the NJDOL. Many have been trying to survive for weeks without paychecks or the unemployment benefits they are owed.
“We have seen many state workers change jobs successfully in the Golden State, now let’s deploy this strategy in the Garden State,” added Doherty. “Governor Murphy should do this immediately because the ongoing failure of the Department of Labor to process claims in a timely fashion is unacceptable. Unemployed New Jerseyans and their families deserve better during this time of great need."

Five Things You Never Knew About Jackie Kennedy
Maybe it was her fondness for image, surrounded by a touch of mystery and intrigue.
Or maybe it was just the fact that amidst all the fame, Jacqueline Kennedy remained a steadfastly private person.
Whatever it was, Jackie kept secrets.
But Kennedy family historian Philip Katz knows the secrets and is not particularly shy about telling others. Here are five of Jackie's secrets -- things that the public does not ordinarily know about one of the most legendary first ladies in American history:
1) Jackie was old money. She was born into wealth and largely surrounded by society types. She was accustomed to having multiple homes and servants, traveling often and enjoying the finer things in life: yachts, jewels, estates and haute couture. She was a patrician and her family's pedigree far outpaced the Kennedy's.
2) Jacqueline Bouvier was a Republican. That's how she was raised and that was her party allegiance. Even after she married Jack, she retained Republican leanings. In fact, when Jack Kennedy was elected president she insisted that half the members of his cabinet be Republicans. And so, it came to be. Half of JFK's cabinet members were Republican.
3) Jackie could be as reckless in her personal life and her passions as JFK -- but in a different way. As an avid equestrian, water skier and world traveler, Jackie was not afraid to put herself in danger. During a time when women still held back, Jackie could be a brazen risk-taker. She didn't hesitate to water ski on one foot, or while holding a child. Some people were fooled by her soft, little-girl voice. But she was not a genteel patrician. She could go toe to toe with the most passionate athlete.
4) Jackie raised her niece, Anna Christina (Tina) Radziwill , the daughter of socialite/actress Lee Bouvier Radziwill (Jackie's sister) and the late Stanislaw Radziwill. Jackie took Tina under her wing and literally made her part of her family.
5) Jacqueline Kennedy, one of the most-photographed women in the world, actually hated being photographed and could be painfully shy. This was true even though she enjoyed reading about herself in newspapers and magazines. Though she loved getting dressed up and going out on the town, she also treasured her private moments and loved nothing more than a quiet evening with a good book. During these moments, she would allow only one person to photograph her: John F. Kennedy.
