Trump's Speech Wins Extensive High Praise!

Last night during his first address to a joint session of Congress in his second term, President Donald J. Trump delivered a powerful, masterful speech highlighting the remarkable accomplishments of his first six weeks in office and charting a course for four years of prosperity.

The address received widespread acclaim. 76% of Americans approved of the speech, according to a CBS poll, while a CNN poll showed 69% of Americans had a positive reaction.

Praise immediately poured in:

Speaker Mike Johnson: “Tonight, President Trump made his triumphant return to Congress to share his bold, optimistic vision for renewing the American Dream.”

Sen. Ted Cruz: “This is the fifth State of the Union address I've seen Trump give — it was by far his best.”

Fox News’s Bret Baier: “The best moment — emotional moment, was DJ, who’s battling cancer. He wanted to be a police officer and during the speech, the president said the Secret Service has made him an agent.”

Fox News’s Brit Hume: “If you ever doubted that Donald Trump is the political colossus of our time and our nation, this night and this speech should have put that to rest.”

Geraldo Rivera: “Trump was strong, defiant and entertaining.”

Clay Travis: “This is the best speech of Donald Trump’s career. Just a phenomenal litany of common sense and rational leadership. Great and heartwarming guests. It’s a grand slam.”

Chris Cillizza: “That was a very effective speech. You can hate it or him. But that speech was aimed squarely at issues where the public is with Trump -- and filled with made-for-sharing moments. A master image-maker at work (and you can hate him and acknowledge that's true!)”

Riley Gaines: “I am just left feeling inspired and hopeful and there's so much to look forward to.”

Amber Rose: “Donald Trump just gave the greatest presidential speech of all-time.”

Reince Priebus: “I thought it was extremely strong. When he talked about... common sense revolution, giving the government back to The People... I thought was really insightful.”

Breitbart’s Matthew Boyle: “This speech is one of Trump's best ever, and the Democrat behavior during it has been not only despicable but also colossally politically stupid. Whoever is advising these idiots just steered their party into an even deeper ditch than Joe Biden and Kamala Harris left them in.”

Pennsylvania resident: “I thought it was very positive... We used to be a country that would just let everything happen... I think now, we're taking back things that should've never been given away. So, I think doing those tariffs... it's well overdue."

Secretary of State Marco Rubio: “An inspiring and momentous speech. @POTUS returned to the White House with a clear mandate from the American people to renew the American Dream. His address tonight laid out exactly how he is keeping those promises with a vision of peace through strength, and a stronger, safer, and more prosperous United States.”

Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem: “Tonight, President Trump laid out his vision to renew the American dream. In just a few short weeks, President Trump’s immigration and border security policies have led to an all-time-low in illegal crossings at the southern border. The message is clear: America’s borders are closed to lawbreakers.”

Secretary of the Treasury Scott Bessent: “Strength. Prosperity. Peace. Tonight, President Trump shared his historic vision for our nation in renewing the American dream. He has done more in the past six weeks for the American people, than the previous administration in four years.”

Secretary of the Interior Doug Burgum: “The previous administration used a whole-of-government approach to oppose reliable, affordable U.S. energy production in favor of unreliable, unaffordable intermittent sources. The Trump administration is working overtime to undo all the damage done during the Biden years and we are fast-tracking America’s path to a New Golden Age through Energy Dominance!”

Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth: “Thank you @POTUS it is the honor of my life to serve the American warfighter.”

Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins: “@POTUS spoke loud and clear on American agriculture. He loves America’s farmers, and they have no more faithful friend nor more powerful champion. He will defend them, and if anyone doubted it — they don’t after tonight.”

Secretary of Energy Chris Wright: “President Trump is renewing the American Dream, and we here @Energy are with him every step of the way to unleash American energy dominance!”

UN Ambassador-designate Elise Stefanik: “In just one month under President Trump, Americans have experienced record results and the renewal of the American Dream with the triumphant return of strong leadership to the Oval Office. From securing the border, to cutting wasteful spending of our hard earned taxpayer dollars, to reasserting America First peace through strength leadership to the world stage, President Trump has delivered the most exceptional first month of an American presidency in history. Promises made, promises kept. The American Golden Age is here.”

Secretary of Housing and Urban Development Scott Turner: “The American people sent President Trump to enact generational change in Washington. What @POTUS has accomplished in less than two months is nothing short of remarkable. This is what America first feels like.”

Small Business Administration Administrator Kelly Loeffler: “This was a tour de force of a President who, in 42 days, has more accomplishments than Joe Biden had in four years -- It is a new day in America and people at home had to have loved what they've seen from this great President.”

Secretary of Education Linda McMahon: “Tremendous address by President Trump tonight. America is back, & the work is only beginning. A Special Message From President & Mrs. Trump

The President and First Lady’s Message on Ash Wednesday, 2025
This Ash Wednesday, we join in prayer with the tens of millions of American Catholics and other Christians beginning the holy season of Lent—a time of spiritual anticipation of the passion, death, and Resurrection of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

During the Lenten season, Christians spend 40 days and 40 nights praying, fasting, and giving alms to deepen our faith and strengthen our belief in the Gospel.  Today, followers of Christ wear crosses of ash on their foreheads—a sacred reminder of our mortality and our enduring need for Christ’s infinite mercy and redeeming love.

As we solemnly contemplate Jesus Christ’s suffering and death on the cross this Lent, let us prepare our souls for the coming glory of the Easter miracle.

We offer you our best wishes for a prayerful and enriching Lenten season.  May Almighty God bless you, and may He continue to bless the United States of America.

Trump Is Wining: Catholics Make The Difference!

The following is from Catholic Vote:

Take a guess…

How long has President Trump been in office (don’t cheat!)?

Answer: 43 days.

Think about that for a second.

He’s working to revitalize America at a pace nobody thought possible. Democrats, the media, and even many Republicans can’t keep up. And he’s doing something totally unprecedented: he’s keeping his promises.

No President is perfect. Trump is not our political messiah. We have only one Messiah! But it’s worth stopping for a minute today as the President prepares to address Congress and the nation tonight, and consider what YOU and CV have helped him achieve…in a mere 43 days.

The pace of change has been so breathtaking. So we thought we’d highlight some of the most important victories to date.

This is why we took a big risk and went all in for Trump last year. Elections have consequences.

Here’s our top 10…so far:

    1. Ending the Humanitarian Crisis on Our Border: Trump has done what Joe Biden refused to do, and has shut down the massive flow of illegal migration, which means he has shut down massive drug, sex-trafficking and exploitation of countless lives that enriched cartels and ruined the lives of innocent migrants and American families. In February 2025, illegal border crossings plummeted to just 8,326 – a 90% decrease over last February’s numbers.
    2. Fighting for Life, One Policy at a Time: Forget the rhetoric – Trump’s administration is delivering. His executive orders enforcing the Hyde Amendment and reinstating the Mexico City Policy ensure taxpayer dollars won’t fund abortion at home or abroad… and he’s working to cut federal funding to Planned Parenthood. We know more action is coming, with protections for conscience rights, and more. This is just the beginning…
    3. Pardons for the Pro-Life Heroes: For all the hand wringing over Trump on abortion, among his actions during his first weeks in office was to pardon 23 pro-life prayer warriors shamelessly arrested and jailed by Joe Biden’s abortion police. This wasn’t about legal loopholes – it was about standing with those on the front lines for the unborn. Trump sent a clear message: the First Amendment applies to pro-life witnesses too.
    4. Defending Women (and Men): President Trump issued an executive order reaffirming that there are only two sexes – male and female – in the eyes of the federal government. And Trump made it crystal clear that only girls should be playing in girls sports. In response to the growing push for gender ideology in schools, businesses, and federal policies, Trump is stopping the insanity and exploitation of vulnerable children.
    5. Putting America First in Foreign Policy: Under his "America First" agenda, Trump is hitting the “reset” button on U.S. foreign policy – ending DEI nonsense in our military, and warning the world that the U.S. won’t simply be the piggy bank for perpetual wars. His critics might call this reckless isolationism. But his “art of the deal” tactics are designed to put American interests first, and to ask hard questions about how a nation $36 trillion in debt can continue to finance military interventionism across the globe. Yes, this is important for Catholics.
    6. DOGE and Government Efficiency: Polling shows one of the most popular efforts underway is the work being done by Elon Musk and his team to cut through the red tape, eliminate waste, and revamp the way Washington does business. The reaction has been instructive. Far too many government bureaucrats have grown accustomed to business as usual. Tens of billions have been saved already. Again…in 43 days.
    7. USAID Reform: DOGE overhauled USAID’s operations to cut down on rampant waste, abuse, and cultural imperialism across the globe. Rather than pouring millions into projects promoting LGBTQ training in Serbia or combatting “binary-gender language” in Sri Lanka, Trump is redirecting U.S. foreign aid to align with American values. The Catholic Church has partnered with the government for many years delivering critical services to the poor and needy. They should be cheering this long overdue cleanup.
    8. Reinforcing Religious Freedom: From executive orders to address “anti-Christian bias” in federal agencies to forming a dedicated task force headed by Attorney General Pam Bondi, Trump’s administration is battling for the right to practice our faith without persecution. No more FBI spying or calling parents “domestic terrorists.”
    9. Protecting Children from Harmful “Trans-Rights” Policies: President Trump took decisive action by signing an executive order to protect children from irreversible and harmful procedures associated with “trans-rights” policies. His bold move ensures that minors are shielded from potentially dangerous hormone treatments and surgeries, prioritizing the health and well-being of America’s youth.
    10. Delivering for Everyone: One of the most shocking stats I read recently was Trump’s popularity among…young voters. While most imagine Trump to be the president for old white people, the latest AtlasIntel poll shows Trump’s approval is soaring…among voters aged 18-29. Back in January, just 41% of this age group approved of Trump. Now, it’s at 52%! The kids like Trump too.

These victories are not only game-changers – they’re foundational shifts that will define the future of our country.

This is what we worked and voted for!

We’re all a part of this movement.

My biggest concern? That we actually do get tired of winning. And relax and become spectators.

Your CV team is working every day with key personnel inside the Trump administration to help shape policy and provide insights that are critical for Catholics.

We are honored and proud to be your voice.

Oscars Decency? It Pretty Much Expired Long Ago!

Every dreadful thing that could be said about last night's Oscar telecast has probably already been said.

From what we hear, the Oscar winning Best Picture is a sleazy tour of the world of sex workers where every other word in the script is the F word. And last night's Oscar host, Conan O'Brien sort of boasted about this.

The director of the film, Sean Baker  actually won an astounding four Oscars in one night and tied a record set by Walt Disney who won for four separate films in 1953. Baker edits, directs and writes most of his films and has also served as producer and cinematographer for some. Wearing all of these hats paid off and led him to make history last night.

Baker, a New Jersey native, says "sex workers" have always held a fascination for him and this current film follows the story of a prostitute who becomes involved with a Russian oligarch. Baker says he hopes the raunchy movie is "helping remove the stigma that's been applied to [sex work], that's always been applied to this livelihood."

In 1953 Walt Disney won Oscars for Best Documentary Feature Film, Best Documentary Short Subject, Best Cartoon Short Subject and Best Short Subject (two reel). Through his entire career Walt Disney won 26 Academy Awards. No one has ever won more!

So, from Walt Disney's squeaky clean family films in the wholesome 1950s to this -- an Oscar celebration of degradation and the underbelly of life in the sex-for-hire 21st century. The film is replete with profanity, sex scenes, various sexual positions and violence. Offensive language includes “f*ck” and its variations, as well as “sh*t,” “c*nt,” "p*ssy", "bitch", "hooker" and "whore". Homophobic slurs are used several times. The phrase “f*ggot a*s bitch” is repeatedly used as an insult towards one character. The movie received an R rating "for strong sexual content throughout, graphic nudity, pervasive language, and drug use." One more thing: so far it is the least watched and lowest grossing film to ever win a Best Picture Oscar.

We wonder if Walt Disney (who passed away in 1966) ever imagined he'd be in such company. We seriously doubt it.
