Bashaw Blasts Kim's Extremist Border Votes

With news reports this week that the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) identified an ISIS-affiliated human smuggling network transporting 400 immigrants from Central Asia and elsewhere, Curtis Bashaw, New Jersey Republican candidate for United States Senate, released the following statement:

“What is happening at our border right now is nothing short of a national security nightmare, as hundreds of individuals potentially connected to ISIS have been smuggled into our country over the last several years. We have no idea who many of these people are, where they are, or what their intentions may be.    

“It’s unconscionable to me that Andy Kim not only supports Joe Biden’s open border policies, he’s on record stating he doesn’t believe our border needs to be secured. That’s reckless and dangerous.

“Yet, Andy Kim’s actions in Congress are even worse, as he’s voted against common-sense measures to protect our country from terrorism and support law enforcement dealing with the border crisis.  He was one of only 34 members of Congress in the entire country to vote against the bipartisan ‘No Paydays for Hostage Takers Act’, a bill which allows the US government to hold hostage takers and terrorists accountable. The bill specifically targets the Iranian Regime, the leading sponsor of terrorism worldwide.  

“Just last month, Andy Kim voted against the Police Our Border Act, which would analyze the impact of the border crisis on our nation’s law enforcement. 

“Andy Kim supports Joe Biden’s dangerous open borders, voted against protecting American families from Iranian hostage takers, and doesn’t have the backs of our law enforcement officers in this border crisis. His extremist positions make him a dangerous choice to represent New Jersey in the United States Senate.

“As United States Senator, I will work to secure our borders, support our men and women in law enforcement, and protect our families and neighborhoods.  New Jersey families deserve nothing less.”

This legislation deters the Government of Iran, other hostile governments, and individuals from hostage-taking or wrongfully detaining United States nationals by imposing sanction and other strict penalties. Among the actions listed in the bill is the requirement of the President to deny visas for anyone seeking admission to the United States as a representative to the United Nations who is sanctioned under terrorism or weapons of mass destruction proliferation Executive Orders.

This legislation would mandate the Attorney General compile a report on the border crisis’s impacts on law enforcement agencies across the United States – quantifying the impacts of an ever-expanding crisis and allowing Congress the ability to know where best to direct future resources.

Legislator Wants Full Audit Of NJ Transit

In light of fare hikes set for July 1 and a planned corporate transit fee to be added to the state budget this week that collectively add billions to NJ Transit’s budget, Assemblyman Michael Inganamort expressed concerns over the agency’s inability to ensure timely train operations.

With the World Cup approaching, Inganamort emphasizes that New Jersey is far from prepared to host such a significant international event.

“Despite the substantial increase in funding through fare hikes and the corporate transit fee, NJ Transit continues to struggle with punctuality and reliability,” Inganamort (R-Morris) said. “New Jersey is not ready to host the World Cup. Not even close.”

Inganamort is calling for a comprehensive audit of NJ Transit to identify and rectify the underlying issues before allocating any additional funds.

“Before we increase spending on NJ Transit, we need a full and complete audit of the agency. Identify what’s wrong and then fix it,” Inganamort said.

At an Assembly Transportation Committee hearing on March 7, Inganamort voiced his concerns and urged for immediate action.

“The clock is ticking,” Inganamort warned. “We cannot afford to wait any longer. The people of New Jersey deserve a transit system that is efficient, reliable, and worthy of our investment.”

The Debate? Well, There's Really No Way . . .

Don't let anyone tell you differently.

Because the simple truth is this: there's no way to predict what's gonna happen at tonight's presidential debate.

Will Biden be so jacked up that he veers ahead at abnormal, supersonic speed? Will Trump be more toned down and maybe even a tad presidential? Will Biden succeed at goading Trump and getting him to react impulsively? Will Trump score policy points and come across as the common sense choice without unnecessary belligerence? Will Biden mumble and grumble and fumble? Will Trump rant and rave? Will they both come across as a couple of grumpy old men?

We don't know.

What's more, we don't know how the moderators will behave; what the nature of their questions may be; how they may be biased or triggered and how that will affect the outcome of the debate. We do know at least this much: the show is on CNN and they seem to have no interest whatsoever in a Trump win. But will the hosts moderate their tone and suppress their bias even a little bit and will that be enough to help Trump and tip the debate?

Bottom line: it's a crapshoot.

And that's why so many people will be tuning in. They want to watch the dice thrown and see how things will land.

One more question: does Trump have a surprise up his sleeve? Will there be some Big Reveal or unexpected maneuver tonight -- something that will give Trump bragging rights and dominate the headlines tomorrow?

Antisemitism: Cherry Hill Schools Face Law Suit

The Zionist Organization of America (ZOA) filed a lawsuit in federal court yesterday against Cherry Hill Public Schools (CHPS), which serves over 10,000 students in New Jersey. 

Filed on behalf of high school student L.B. and his parents, the suit alleges that after the Hamas massacre on October 7, 2023, L.B. was repeatedly assaulted, threatened and harassed after he documented the Hamas-supporting conduct of other students. Instead of protecting L.B. and effectively addressing the antisemitic hostility he was enduring, CHPS officials contributed to the hostility, painting L.B. as a troublemaker, undeservingly punishing him, and retaliating against him for exercising his right to free expression. 

The ZOA is proud to partner with the law firm of Meister Seelig & Fein PLLC to secure justice for L.B. and his family.

The complaint alleges that immediately after the Hamas attack, several students showed up at the high school wearing keffiyehs, waving Palestinian Arab flags, and shouting “Free Palestine,” signaling their support for Hamas and its genocidal goal to kill Jews and eliminate Israel. L.B. documented their conduct by posting videos of them on social media, which was his right and which did not violate district policies, as CHPS officials acknowledged to L.B. and his parents.

District officials knew that a group of students threatened to jump L.B. because of his social media posts but took no steps to protect him. Instead, they ignored the threat and blamed L.B. for instigating it. When students acted on their threat, assaulting L.B. in the school cafeteria as he was eating lunch with friends, CHPS punished L.B. without cause and without due process and ignored the continuing threats he endured.

L.B. and his parents implored CHPS to take corrective measures, but they refused to do so. They now seek declaratory and injunctive relief in court to ensure that CHPS finally lives up to its legal obligation to eliminate the hostile environment that L.B. has been subjected to, which must include rescinding all the baseless and wrongly punitive actions taken against L.B.; and compensatory damages for the harm that L.B. and his family have endured.

“With antisemitism surging, including in New Jersey, CHPS’s indifference to the fear, pain and suffering of L.B. and other Jewish students is unconscionable, particularly after Hamas committed the worst mass slaughter of Jews since the Holocaust,” ZOA National President Morton A. Klein and Director of ZOA’s Center for Law and Justice, Susan B. Tuchman, Esq. said. “Instead of making it clear to the community that there would be zero tolerance for actions that seemingly celebrated Hamas’ massacre and made Jewish students feel unsafe, the district not only tolerated the conduct but also indulged it. Worse, they outrageously painted L.B. as a wrongdoer who was asking for it. No one asks to be assaulted, threatened or harassed at their school based on their Jewish identity or for any other reason. It was up to CHPS to put a stop to that conduct and hold L.B.’s assailants accountable.

“The ZOA is honored to be working with Meister Seelig & Fein PLLC to ensure that the many wrongs against L.B. and his family are finally righted and that CHPS is finally required to provide a safe and welcoming learning environment for L.B. and other Jewish students.”
