A Cinderella Team With A Dynamic New Star!

Every once in awhile someone emerges, seemingly from nowhere, to capture the imagination of the country.
This time it's a somewhat obscure college basketball player from a little-known college in Jersey City, New Joizee. His name is Doug Edert and he plays for St. Peter's College, a school with just 2.355 students. Last night he was pivotal in leading his team to a stunning upset victory over the top-ranked University of Kentucky in the first round of the NCAA tournament. It was a KABOOM moment experienced coast-to-coast and beyond.
This young man brings such drive and spirit with him that he makes sports miracles seem almost commonplace.
He played four years of varsity basketball at Bergen Catholic High School in North Jersey and ended his time there with 1,017 career points He served as the team captain in 2019 as a senior, leading his team to the Bergen County Championship title, State Championship title, and NJSIAA Boys Basketball Tournament of Champions finals appearance.
Now, in his junior year at St. Peter's he has emerged as one of most elite three-point shooters in the country.
He obviously delights in the speed and agility of the game, loves the competition, gives his all and plays to win, win, win no matter the odds.
Ya just can't help but be inspired by this guy!
